Enshrouded Demo Patch Notes
Steam Next Fest Pre-Update (October 6th)

Here's a list of changes from our patch on Friday the 6th, mostly fixes and performance improvements from our earlier version of the demo. We hope you all are enjoying Enshrouded during Steam Next Fest!

Don't forget to wishlist the game if you've enjoyed it!

Changes:
  • Added the option to change graphical settings directly in-game.
  • Wildlife is now slightly easier to hunt, guess they got lazy!
  • You can now invite friends to your game directly through Steam.
  • Added support for both Polish and Russian Languages.
  • Performance and stability has been improved in several different areas and situations. We have listed some of the biggest ones in the rest of the changelog below.

Visuals and Rendering:
  • Improved visual quality of shadows and reduced memory consumption.
  • Reduced fog visuals inside houses, now if things start looking smokey you should probably check the fireplace...
  • The loading period after fast traveling now shows a black screen instead of a white one, no more blinding transitions!
  • Fixed an issue that caused light effects to leak through roof segments.
  • Improved info text display during pre-loading screens.
  • Fixed an issue with ultrawide monitors.
  • Fixed broken VFX in Enshrouded areas.
  • Fixed several potential crashes.

Enemies and Combat:
  • Enemies now have better pathfinding to avoid cliffs, they weren't supposed to be lemmings!
  • Thunderbrutes now have improved pathfinding for roaming.
  • Improved sound effects for spiders, they should now sound more spidery.

Controls and UI:
  • The player should no longer move involuntarily when switching from controller to mouse (or vice versa). No, you weren’t going crazy.
  • Improved the UI hints for the secondary action bar, and how to switch between them.
  • Several improvements to inventory and HUD icons.
  • Improved and added more player guidance in the UI to make it less confusing, for example when learning how to equip grappling hooks or gliders.
  • Reduced the visual intensity of the “needs to be equipped” backpack indicator.

Building and Terraforming:
  • The currently targeted building segment should now always be correctly shown. Now if you accidentally delete the wrong block you only have yourself to blame.
  • Several improvements and fixes to the tooltips and hints found within the building menu.
  • Fixed rotation issues with scaffolding props.

Exploration and Progression:
  • Fixed several issues with unlocking and completing quests.
  • Fixed several small issues with the game world, such as floating or buried objects.
