Review after playing to the limit of the demo
Overcame the issues with my game crashing ever 10 minutes... Had to eliminate and turn off all background processes that were not windows essential.

The game in general is too easy... this is more apparent with 2+ people.
The movement and combat is fine but the mobs are way too easy.
Bases Need to be more than what they are, crafting and storage hubs. They really need to be more essential to the gameplay loop like in 7 days. In the demo bases are just pretty storage containers.

The World even just in the demo is pretty large... but its empty. The Points of interest are pretty few and far between. After me and a buddy completed the quests we explored the area looking for secret places and we found a few in the play test area but there was really nothing interesting in them. I.E. a cave that was pretty deep but just had flint in it, or salt.

Towards the end of the demo area, doing the quest became a walking SIM just going from point to point (and it was pretty far distance for no real reason)

it would be nice to see some dynamic events or certain things that happen at night vs day.

Overall the game needs alot of work to be a "good" game that has some replayablity.

it feels like the game was built around the Building portion but the devs forgot to include it into the gameplay loop. Bases are pretty with no real reason. Would love to see more from this game.

That was my same takeaway. It has one of the best building systems I've seen in a game. But like you said it's just for storage, repairing your gear (which makes no sense as it costs no materials to repair) and refreshing your rested buff.

I'm waiting to see some real combat mechanics maybe once it hits early access. If it's going to be 16 players the bosses will have to have MMO style mechanics and phases otherwise the game is going to be a snoozefest. The current combat would be 1 person being focused by the boss and 15 people standing behind the boss spamming left click. And ranged is even easier. Just stand in the back spamming left click with no danger.

Only being critical because I like the bare bones of the game. Hope it turns in to something great.

Agree that the combat is too easy. However, did anyone notice that most of the mobs are level 1? Later they go to level 3. I have met level 5 mobs and they are much tougher.
I would like to see tougher mobs but do not want this game to be "hey this is a HARD game". If I wanted a really tough game I would play a Souls clone. Yes, ratchet up the difficulty (an option button would be SO cool) but do not make the game so hard that the players who come for crafting and exploration will be put off.

Plus, the last thing I want is to have the first boss require a 10 minute put down. The Shroud timer is only 5 minutes!

Remember - this is only a DEMO. Thus, my take on the matter is I think Keen games did an excellent job with the demo. It worked for me. I cannot wait for the game to release in EA.

+1 for combat being far too simple and easy.
But keep in mind that a lot of people are so bad at games they'll call it hard and request for an easier mode.

There is a function (F1) within the game for feedback and bugs, if you really want the devs to get your feedback I suggest that you use that, too.

Yes. It's way too easy. The shroud a bit too confusing (I don't like to go in there, it's not so much fun). But in general really does not feel like a challenge except to get from point A to B, meaning to find what you're looking for. There's no need for food, water, shelter either. It's more like a stroll in Disney World.

But, it's a demo only. And Early Access. And a lot of other things are damn well made (not the UI though. That one is not horrible but also not great. And that I can't drop items feels very backward).

Overall I was really impressed by the demo. I agree the game does feel too easy but it's early game so hard to tell for sure. There is something with the animations that feels 'off' to me and the music is wonderful but some of the sound fx are bad like the footstep sounds.

But the map seems huge judging by the amount of fog and while it doesn't feel empty to me there is a lot of just ruins and caves with just junk in. I think what would have been a good idea maybe would be to hide crafting blueprints or rare resources all over the world to encourage you to explore, even if they are just for cosmetic items for you or your base. Voice acting on the lore entries would add a lot for me.

Also finally I would like to say this demo has the worst ending of any demo I have played with the final quest just taking you halfway across the map only to find a door that says 'buy the full game'. I am sold anyway this game has huge potential.
