I'm waiting to see some real combat mechanics maybe once it hits early access. If it's going to be 16 players the bosses will have to have MMO style mechanics and phases otherwise the game is going to be a snoozefest. The current combat would be 1 person being focused by the boss and 15 people standing behind the boss spamming left click. And ranged is even easier. Just stand in the back spamming left click with no danger.
Only being critical because I like the bare bones of the game. Hope it turns in to something great.
I would like to see tougher mobs but do not want this game to be "hey this is a HARD game". If I wanted a really tough game I would play a Souls clone. Yes, ratchet up the difficulty (an option button would be SO cool) but do not make the game so hard that the players who come for crafting and exploration will be put off.
Plus, the last thing I want is to have the first boss require a 10 minute put down. The Shroud timer is only 5 minutes!
Remember - this is only a DEMO. Thus, my take on the matter is I think Keen games did an excellent job with the demo. It worked for me. I cannot wait for the game to release in EA.
But keep in mind that a lot of people are so bad at games they'll call it hard and request for an easier mode.
But, it's a demo only. And Early Access. And a lot of other things are damn well made (not the UI though. That one is not horrible but also not great. And that I can't drop items feels very backward).
But the map seems huge judging by the amount of fog and while it doesn't feel empty to me there is a lot of just ruins and caves with just junk in. I think what would have been a good idea maybe would be to hide crafting blueprints or rare resources all over the world to encourage you to explore, even if they are just for cosmetic items for you or your base. Voice acting on the lore entries would add a lot for me.
Also finally I would like to say this demo has the worst ending of any demo I have played with the final quest just taking you halfway across the map only to find a door that says 'buy the full game'. I am sold anyway this game has huge potential.
