40$ for EA?
Are you serious? Max 20$ and have hope that this won't end like "dark and light"...
I wouldn't judge performance until after the Oct 9th performance patch with the NEXT FEST demo release.
Nah. This is already AA quality just with the demo. With AAA games being $70 (+$30 to $40) for DLC. This is easily, and I mean EASILY, worth $40. I would pay $40 just for what's on the demo version + optimization.
I haven't seen any performance issues, though the issues I hear about are usually from people with High End GPUs and 4k monitors that they think should run everything but really they can't be optimized for because they're so expensive. How is an Indie dev supposed to buy a $3000 PC so they can optimize to the 5% of gamers on here that have those setups? My 10 friends are all on GTX 1060s and lower. I'm the ONLY one with an RTX 3060.
And I run it just fine. 50 - 60 FPS, 1080p, no problem anywhere.
$40. I will easily buy this for myself and my 10 friends (yes I have bought them all $40 games before. We wanted to play stellaris so I bought them that then all the $200 worth of DLC for myself.) Though only if they Optimize and lower that VRAM limit. Otherwise I can't buy it all because none of my friends can play it -_-
Personally I think asking devs to hand out this much passion and work for less than a large dominoes pizza is really sad. They've worked EXTREMELY hard on this and personally I think they need rewarded for it.
Dark and lights EXE is literally "Shootergame" the same as arks and the settings in the INIs all refer to "Dinos".
Snail took the Ark IP and made a bunch of knock off crap trying to cash in and it was obvious from the start. This is a passionate team that has obviously put a massive amount of work into the game and the demo already has enough content to justify $40 AS IS.
Aaaaaah, so games should only be for people who earn a lot, or what? For many people, 40 € for a game is a lot of money; especially if you don't know whether it will be further developed or not. And EA should not cost more than 20 €, as interim financing for the developers; It's not a fully developed game yet. Last year's madness of charging 70 - 80 for a game should finally be stopped, otherwise only the elite will be able to play new games. Especially with games, it should be the case that even poorer people can forget their frustration, anger and annoyance for an hour.
Games haven't increased in price in 30 YEARS. DO think the should be 60 forever?
A large part of the success of Valheim was the price which put it in the impulse buy range, I hope Enshrouded isn't priced too high.
This is depressing. So many failed EA games. Ive avoided EA for the last couple years, but i just bought Sons of Forest, since its basicly done, and looking at this one in a couple weeks. Because EA is such a gamble now though i cant go over 20 . . . Too many abandonware games in my library.
The market has grown exponentially for 30 years. Hardware, distribution and availability has grown.
When they start doing the art and programming with AI do you feel we should pay 70 or 80 bucks for what is basicly automated production?
As for pricing, I'd rather them sell at $60 so they have the funding for future core-content with safety, although I don't trust them worth a damn after Portal Knights.
