Will this be solo offline friendly ?
I always liked the idea of survival games, but whenever ive tried them they suck in practice. pvp, people interfering etc, not interested. But i would love the ability to play by myself and explore the world and build what i want when and where i want etc.

I agree with the OP. In most games, I find I'm more effective when playing alone. When I die in Valheim, it's always when trying to rescue team mates or following their daft plans. I don't mind if solo is more difficult, so long as it's playable.

I adore Valheim, the best game in 2021. I played it when it came out, but solo (I hate co-op, it's so immersion breaking and stupid). It was very difficult solo, I only came to the 3d boss and could absolutely not eat him. I love a challenge though!

Has Valheim introduced difficulty settings since then? :dwarven: I haven't played for over a year because I got stuck on 3d boss.

How do you manage playing solo in Valheim? Have you killed many boses?

I hope Enshrouded gets very detailed, deep difficulty settings. :dwarven:

Yes, Valheim recently added custom settings. Much better for solo play!

Still really looking to Oct 9th though!!!

In the FAQ's link posted above, it says:

"Will it be multiplayer?
Yes. Although the game can be played solo and offline, we strongly encourage players to grab a friend or three before setting out into the Shroud!"

So apparently yes the game can be played solo and offline.
Will wait and see.

Thank you! Guess it is a waiting game now! I only play offline since I have DSL and for other personal reasons.
Most survival games are played with two people in COOP form..

Moment you have 3 or more people its more like a multiplayer like Rust or something...which I hate..

So I hope its a COOP experience with some friends...and not strangers..or at least the chocie

You can play single player luckily!
conan exiles used to be able to play offline solo, but they removed it
Solo Offline is also what I'm interested in. It's fine to HAVE coop, just don't MAKE me play coop. Valheim is great solo! I cheesed the third boss with a treehouse. Video game cheese is the tastiest kind.
Offline solo would be ideal. Base building and world exploration with a grappling hook is what got me interested in this game, but I can't handle having my constructions destroyed after spending time building them like in Conan. Also, there is not a survival base building craft-em-up in existence with at least decent combat, so PVP is a hard pass until the combat looks like Ghost of Tsushima or Sekiro or Ninja Gaiden. The only games of this genre I will play are modded to hell and back, which means I have to play everything exclusively solo. It's the only way I have time to enjoy the game and do something other than spend 800 hours chopping trees and mining stones just to run out of resources after dropping 2 foundations.
I found the Demo to be easy enough on the building, Though would like to see the player pick up range increased a bit.

And make stools, chairs, and bench's actually a usable item, hate it when it's just for looks. maybe give a rested buff or something.

The boss was a challenge, But still defeated him so was able to upgrade my Flame altar.

Still didn't like the time limit, just wasn't necessary in a walled Demo when you only have a few quests to get your feet wet and made learning the build system tedious due to the time restrictions the time limit imposes.

This by the way made a few of my friends think twice about getting the game.

Should have left the Demo up for people even if it was single player. This would have given the builders real time to explore the building, till the game actually comes out EA.

Think the game has great potential. And like the lore and the premise the game offers.

I play mostly Solo but me and a friend joined each others server and had a great time. though would kick me out on his and he has 10 times the net then i do, Yet he could join my poor connection and had no problems.

If PVP becomes a thing would hope they put restrictions on the game so PVE players like me and my friends can just build and explore. Maybe a switch like Valheim has.

Hoping the pricing for EA is reasonable,

And will be waiting for the release e-mail. Though couldn't join the Discord.

Hello fellow solo mode lovers :)

After some recent and past disappointments I think I'll wait some time before, maybe who knows, buying.

To be honest in the FAQ the game is defined as a 'cooperative survival' so not so much space for solo players. Yes there is another FAQ after that one saying you can play solo BUT we encourage to play MP.

In my experience games auto-presenting like that ever meant that the product was designed for MP but of course if you want to go solo be my guest (yeah of course I can go solo on a race car track too but the experience will not be incredible I mean ;) ).

I do not know what's happening to today devs: maybe they consider us solo players some sort of not so smart gizmos to whom you can give an empty world and you'll play.

Well I'm sorry guys: surprise we're not like that.

From my point of view: this game WAS in my Wishlist and it was a release candidate to receive money on day one.

Now I've removed it from wishlist and I'll wait for the reviews (so who knows when) to put money, just in case.

Sorry guys it seems a great game but I won't fall anymore for a well known trick made to SP people: we made a wonderful MP cooperative game and you can play it solo... yeah for sure I can launch the .exe file alone on my PC but that doesn't mean the game can be played solo.

Happy playing to all MP lovers by the way :) happy for ya guys :)

I played the demo all by myself and had very fun ^^
i asked the same question in one of the trailer's comment section and the channel responded saying that the game will scale according to the number of players...so cool for solo players like me

Haha, friends 😂🤣, ha....ha.. yea, friends...
I played it with friends and solo, so far everything is not a big problem. If you like every mission is a different question. You have normally spawn points close to major quests, so when you die you do not have to run to far.
It is also always very useful to have a spare altar in your bag. So you can place it even closer and just start from there. Mobs you killed will stay dead for at least 30 minutes, and you do not have to start to clear everything again and again if you struggle with some parts.
I did this all the time and it was very useful.
in those Hollow Halls you have multiple spawn points. I can only advise to start them when you have time to play... it is nothing you get done on your own at the first try in 60 minutes.
If you will like all the hurdles inside, no idea, cause they have a different feel than the rest of the game.

Maybe i should add " will it be optimized for solo play ? " because a lot of survival games claim that, and then you cant actually do a lot of the stuff like bosses etc , and then the grind becomes impossible for things like materials etc. If it takes 16 people a month to make a castle, will i be able to make a castle solo in the same time ?
I've the exact same question because for example Atlas is not solo friendly but Valheim yes
you have options in atlas (lie you do in ark) to lessen grind immensely ...

Nobody can have 16 friends, you can have 16 buddies, pals but not friends!
