once u hit solar a million chinese ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are there smurfing
I've seen most people from 8pm-3amish EST on weekends, on week days it's a gamble. The game just doesn't have as much Chinese players filling up the servers since they nerfed the ping so what's left is new NA players, a lot of Xbox players, or older players who have been playing consistently for awhile or on and off.
Seems the lobbies must have been dead for something like 24 hours, but yesterday and the day before, I got into quite a few matches.
I also looked at the Steam Charts for the game and it's showing between 100,000 and 135,000 players in any given 24 hour period.
That said, 150k players outside China is still a significant number. For comparison, Dead by Daylight peaks at around 40k players - including Chinese players this time - and they don’t have issues with player retention. Maybe the issue isn’t the player base but rather whether you’re willing to climb to the elo where the more dedicated players are. If not, perhaps this just isn’t the right game for you.
@big Big Nonja - I've also been getting into matches on Naraka pretty easy playing quick mode, it takes me 1 minute or even less and returned last week. Higher ranks in rank mode is full of players.
It's not 150k players outside China - it's 150k players including China.
The game might not be dead, but it's far from its peak. Ranked modes are filled with bots, even if you're high-ranked (like Unrivaled). Whether you wait 1, 5, or 30 minutes, over half your lobby will still be bots. This is easily proven by how Immortal Wars (the ranked mode featuring 12 players in solos and 48 in trios, which is strictly more competitive and used in all tournaments) dies out after a week due to a lack of players.
And that’s not even mentioning other modes, like Bloodbath (the game’s deathmatch mode), where most of the time, you’re the only real player.
I’d also like to remind you that they shut down a mode some of you might not even know existed - Bloodsport. Why? Because it couldn’t fill a 16-player lobby, since this mode had no bots.
So please, let’s not pretend - you might love this game, but it’s clearly struggling in the West.
