Problem is, Zai is barely relevant in (CN) tournaments. Not being used in trios which is arguably her strongest mode and also barely used in solo.

They use her, though, it doesn't matter, actually. Tournament is a 000,1% of player base. You can't tweak game for a fraction of e-sports. They play until last seconds - completely different from usual fights in ranked/quick.
P.S. It is crazy, though. When i pick Yueshan, no Zai in a single match. When pick someone else - Zais everywhere)

Indeed. Though, Yueshan is boring - everyone run away from him and wait until his ult ends)
Kurumi is sweet dessert for Zai. When I hear her scream near, it is instant ggwp for me.
Matari can interrupt her successfully, but needs support.
Tessa is not very good.
I think, Valda can counter her, aslo Yoto, since she has ranged both, skill and ult.
And both girls has long ult.

I don't know, they still stream tournaments to west with Chinese interface. It is so weird to me.
Tournaments are good thing, but they must not consume lot's of resources, like was with Quake Champions or DOA6.

Yeah, thats exactly what i meant. They are hardcore focusing on the Esports everywhere, and you barely until a new update is near hear them talk about anything else. It is frequently annoying hearing about it. But finally it looks like in the next update you can sort news ingame by categories. Thank god for that.

You should know half of the population before solar are bots
and about your word yes the game mechanics and balances are broken that why I left the game But Zai can get countered easily with lots of the characters neither just run till her ult gets finish.
The other way is using cheats and hacks since significant population can block gold combo weirdly. I'm sure you have this experience and have met this kinda of players.
