all the starter matches are against bots to ease you into it

I felt the same as I started in december. It helped me a LOT to watch videos how to move, play, parry and counter. And I gained exp playing against vet aswell. Im still far from being good, but at least I can fight for my ground.

if you fight newbs, you stay newbs. I prefer playing against vet in my lobbies, if it means I become fodders myself.

You spend 10+ minutes queuing, picking character, waiting in lobby, and then starting the game only to get GIGA-STOMPED by some Chinese letter squad, getting infinite juggled with ZERO chance to react.

Yeah, what skill set did you practice vs. the 0.1 second against the "Vets"
that exponentially helped you as opposed to being able to play people YOUR level and actually LEARN by actually fighting spacing, combos, juggles, etc..

You 200% learn more *effectively* by playing people your level and gradually against people a BIT better than you.

Because unlike regular fighting games where each loss against a TTV-Esports Pro only loses you a few minutes on top of consecutive rounds to try new things, rematches, etc..

This game you often times get ONE chance to try anything worthwhile and instead, you insta-die and have to "try" and "learn" again in 10 minutes.

what kind of freaking bot can 1v3 ? that was also the first game that i discovered gold armor, and the worst part was watching the armor drained in a combo. BOT? lmfao
Flashshark Jul 24, 2023 @ 12:12pm
I tried easy bot matches in the first 3 days... Gives some rewards and you can buy new heroes... Also you activate the upgrades for your heroes...
Makes no sense to play against real players before you have all skils activated on your preferred heroe at least.

Now I will step on to normal bot matches!

There is no ez or fun way to gid gud lol. If you only fight low skilled people then you can only learn low skilled stuffs. It's the same thing every other hardcore games.

I hope your are grossly exaggerating, while you may spend a few minutes in que waiting on a trio match I highly doubt your entire group dies in mere seconds with no chance to react. I would actually be impressed if that where the case for you (especially since you typically have 1 re-spawn within the first 5-10 min of the game). I will clarify that I am new to this game and only started playing because of a streamer i like to watch plays it, so perhaps I had an idea of how to play very badly, but I never had an experience I did not learn from. It is entirely your choice whether or not you decide to use the countless guides, videos, or tutorials available to you. If you decide to go the "I want to figure things out myself and not use any resources" then its your fault your at a disadvantage. Like me I am sure there are plenty of other new players learning how to play the game from people that have been playing for over a year and a half. I would highly recommend the training modes though, they are actually very good.

I'm Gold 2 in ranked trios.
I've played this game on-and-off for almost 2 years (since it came out)

If you're not dying within 10-ish minutes, that means you've spawned WELL away from the majority of players and are fighting bots most of the time.

You've clearly never been ganked suddenly by a coordinated Viper Ult + 2 High Damage Characters on TOP of them being Plat+ (or Chinese with terrific ping).

You literally die within 10 seconds (Viper ult stuns for 5 whole seconds)

My point is:
You learn MORE and at a better pace playing against people around your level and gradually a bit BETTER than you slowly trickling in over time.

The guy I responded to said "You learn better by playing against 100 year Veterans who are Solar Ranked and have TTV Esports endorsements" in their names.

That's like boxing against ANGRY, SWEATY, TRYHARD, Mike Tyson and you only get ONE try per month.

You ain't gunna learn a whole lot vs. boxing against someone your level and gradually against people a bit better.

There is no ez or fun way to gid gud lol. If you only fight low skilled people then you can only learn low skilled stuffs. It's the same thing every other hardcore games.

There IS a fun way to "Git Gud" and that's playing against people your level and GRADUALLY against better and better opponents.

That's how ranked matches SHOULD play out in games.

This game, you play against brain-dead, wall hugging Bots for awhile and then suddenly you get thrown into a pool of Chinese TTV Esports Mukbang Pro Teams who are Smurfing in NA or you run into the beefed up Steroid level-11 bots that pixel perfect parry you and light-juggle spam you to death x3.

Eventually, you DO adapt, but its MUCH slower and more frustrating/unfun than to play against people *around* or *a little above* your level.

Big truth, don't let some self-proclaimed MaleAlpha-DarkSouls2NoHit to "get good".
Veterans IG and kinda on this forum as well wants new players to leave their game by gatekeeping them from the only gamemode available for new players to learn the game.

Thanks guys.

It's not often but it is possible to die within mere seconds depending on who you are up against and what gear they have on. I was able to kill a full armor (purple) and full hp Akos in 3 seconds but that was me using a Greatsword with Earthbreaker Soul Jade and him getting the full combo hit of it.

I have a static group for Ranked Trios in the Chamber (equivalent to guild) I'm in who are both ranked Unrivaled Asura last season but we can still killed ez by other more skilled groups. Our lobby often consists of a few top 100 players so its understandable. It doesn't discouraged me though getting pwned by good players since that's more fun for me than fighting bots or bad players. Just keep at it! 💪😁

lol yea... a lot of complaints like this are on this threads when Naraka 1st launched. That's why now they make you play with bots for a while and require you to level up a bit before you can do ranked matches. Some new players who complains about fighting bots has no idea the skill jump required between fighting bots and real people.

This game is ez to get into but a lot to take in to master. If you are just casual and don't want PVP then just do the Campaign part of the game. I do that too and its fun fighting bosses with others and tweaking your build to maximize your damage or survival. Spirit Well is also a fun way to PVP against real people without penalty. 😁
