Is ranked still full of OP bots?

Me and my friend tried this out on Game Pass while it was still Pay 2 play, and we were highly disappointed when we realized- And subsequently learned that the games were full of bots, used to fill out matches so queue times were quicker. These bots ranged from unbeatable to potato-brained, and more or less completely ruined the experience for us. With the game going free to play, I would hope there's enough players for bots to have been dialed down, but is it so?

Duos ranked is way harder, than solos. In every match we had some players, though. Even from bottom Bronze.

To get used to bots, at least, you can try to play Bot mode Duos Hard. Even with f2p there will be bots, just less with Platinum + rank.

I don't get how there's so many bots in this game like wtf. Where are all the people?

The game went F2P, tripled its playercount (steamcharts) yet from the few games I've played now they were still all full of bots. Both quick and ranked (gold).

Where is everyone??

First fights in Solo, maybe, whole Bronze rank and most of Silver they will play with bots anyway - to get used to game mechanics. So don't expect, that new players will appear so soon.
There is some level cap, they need to reach it to be able to play in ranked.

It's weird in the first place that there are bots in ranked.

There are also tons of bots in Quick match, where the new players *should* be. Sure, not as many as before, but still 90-95% lobby are bots.

Before the update I had 100% bots lobbies

Once you get to Platinum rank and above is when you will wish you were fighting bots instead of highly skilled ppl... 😂

As of August 6th, 2024, I can confirm that this still is the case, ranked still has difficult bots.

Bots were also upgraded and made far more difficult to deal with in a recent update. You'll still find Ziping Yin bots trying to use her Nature's Touch as offensive projectiles, though.

Trust me you don't want to rush to higher ranks. The skill ceiling in this game is huge. I forget the name, but there is an option in settings to have less bots. Players in this game are cracked as it's been out for a while. As a newer player, just the CPU bots can give you a hard time until you learn the weapons and powers each character has.

Thanks for the info everyone, but I think I'll just skip out. Not really interested in battle royals with bots, kind of defeats the purpose in my opinion, and just makes you question whether your wins are earned, and deaths fair. Not for me.

There are barely any bots in higher elos. You're too low of a rank to be put up against consistent real players. This is to prevent you from being nothing but facestomped from day 1. Because you will be as soon as you face real players.

If you're playing this game for the first time with this account, there will be plenty of bots to get you used to the gameplay as quickly as possible, and there will be relatively few real players in each match.

And that's fine and all, if that's the decision the developers have made. I would personally prefer getting stomped by real players, knowing I got bested by a real person who probably put a lot of hours into the game, than a bot that's just scripted to either auto lose, or auto win against newer players. Wins don't feel earned, losses don't feel justified. It ruins the entire experience for me.
