maybe a game that is set in WuXia setting, a genre of fantasy that is rooted in Chinese mythology is popular among people of Chinese heritage or is otherwise familiar or interested with WuXia setting.
maybe a good number of those people are bilingual because of their heritage or interest
maybe this is one of very few games that allows Unicode letters to be used as names, so those bilinguals thought it would be fitting to express themselves in new ways
Aside from Chinese names, there are Korean names, Vietnamese names, Thai and many others that I have ran into. Does that make it hard for Non speaker of those language to identify who is who? yes, so in the Official tournaments ran by Naraka, the players are required to have an English name so it is easy for audience all over to identify who is who.
Yeah, I suppose so. doesn't explain the long wait times though. Region locking would completely fix this issue. I would prefer not to play with people outside of my region, doesn't completely ruin my experience but makes it harder to connect to others
Yeah, sure, lots of Chinese out there. I also doubt they are just culture enjoyers as most of the time communication with them is not possible at all. Nothing we can do about it though
then just re que right after you die, a high chance you get into the same match with those the died in the same wave. but I will say average is 5 minute if you dont have a premade team. a little faster if you have a team of 3.
I think maybe if the Dev allow 2 names would be good, an Alphabetic name and an Unicode name. then player in settings can choose which names they want to see. or both.
For example if you are an English speaker, you may not be able to read French, German, Swedish words, but since they use same or similar Alphabet, you can visually identify and remember the characters more easily then something like Russian or Thai. But then people that dont use Alphabetic language writing system can still have their own language names.
From what I noticed, the que went down noticeably to 1 - 2 minutes when I started playing with friends but I also noticed that half the game would be bots and the other half, players
You know what they say, "time is money" sitting there for 5 minutes waiting for a match every single time just sucks. I also noticed it cut the time down for me to like 1 - 2 minutes but half the match is just filled with bots and half actual people. I guess time of day is also a big factor
well if time is money and 5 minutes of your time are so expensive, why you even play videogames... or do you earn money by playing and every minute of wait for queue is lost income somehow?
this phrase only applies to people who have their whole life scheduled ahead and yeah, for them every lost hour is a nuisance and loss of income. and i mean, an HOUR. nobody ever plans their life around minutes, it's simply too risky and will never work
maybe i don't know something and there are new gaming standards out there, but 5 minutes is really fast in my opinion
That's just a metaphor my man, don't take it at face value. This metaphor means spend your time wisely, your not doing anything just sitting there for 5 minutes waiting for the que to start
False, this applies to everyone in every situation, time is the most valuable thing on planet earth and it effects everyone, you can either spend it doing nothing or spent it becoming a productive member of society, it's whatever makes you the most happy
Not when your waiting on a match it's not, matches really shouldn't take longer than 1 minutes, maybe 2 on a bad day. Some people have busy schedules, hard to get a match in if your waiting 5 minutes for it to start
Because of single mm (compared to multi mm), ppl devided into:
Ranked: Solo, Duos, Trios.
Casual: Solo, Duos, Trios.
Bot Mode Easy: Solo, Duos, Trios.
Bot Mode Hard: Solo, Duos, Trios.
Bloodbath
Custom lobbies
+ other modes.
Basically, here more than 15 modes, but you can set matchmaking only for one mode at a time. Also ranked system will prevent you to play with any available players too.
