Moza R5 controller switches during event

If got the Moza R5 working in game wheel, pedals and buttons, and set it's bindings. But during a race only the steering wheel doesn't respond, pedals and buttons keep working. When checking the controller, the controller = Moza R5 Base but the Controller type = Keyboard/mouse in grey.
I tried copying the current settings in the C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Wreckfest 2\76561198051570969\savegame files to the ...\backup_34xxx folder. No success. Also made them read only. Disconnecting the mouse at start of game. All with no success. It keeps switching the controller type. Sometimes both Controller & Controller Type to Keyboard / Mouse.
It happens to me more in the scrapyard - bone map then the 2 new maps, strangly.
