No.
I definitely had fun playing Flatout 2 and Ultimate Carnage back in the days but today I feel nothing about them and can't force myself to play them. On the other hand Wreckfest is such a fresh experience when you feel that you need to be 100 % concentrated from start to finish and show good, calculated driving.
I played Wreckfest on other account for a long time and after completing the campaign I just played one map Boulder Bank over and over again cause the driving itself is so satisfying. I had such experience only with pre-nitro NFS games like NFS 3 and Hometown map. As I said earlier first street-racing games with nitro like NFS Underground were fun and fresh but today I will choose something like NFS 3, 4, 5 without a dought and will never want to play Underground.
Today there is not enough good arcade racing games without nitro. There are Wreckest, Forza Horizon and Gravel (which aged not very well despite being pretty new). For me nitro in racing games is like cancer and I desperately want Wreckfest to stay away from it in order to give me pure and immersive racing experience and not become stale due to shallow gameplay.
I can respect devs wanting top stay true to the sport, but not having it even as an option? It's a pretty absurd decision. As a high-risk high-reward mechanic, could be amazing.
For a game called Wreckfest, the game actually does a lot more things to promote normal racing than to promote wrecks.
IMHO, cutting this much on more optional arcade features are limiting this game potencial audience.
I would love for it to stay focused on old beat up cars racing and wrecking.
Only typical cars and nothing fictional this time is my desire.
I have no problem with having any crazy extra as an option, but it was hard in WF1 to get a realistic grid of cars without using mods, trucks with minis etc..
Realistic racing series mode and an anything goes carnage mode would please all.
Thanks
If race with nitro enabled, then any lap time would not count??
