Wreckfest 2

Wreckfest 2

Feedback: What Wreckfest 2 should improve upon
I've put a decent chunk of time into the first game (almost 300 hours), and I have some gripes that I think Wreckfest 2 should address. Without any major changes, it wont feel like much of a sequel. That's why I have some suggestions which I hope you will consider:

Deep customization
When I say deep customization, I mean being able to remove glass, fenders, bumpers, grilles, and the like (for EVERY car). And other things like custom decals, where you provide shapes, symbols, numbers, letters, and the ability to color them, combining them into your own decal. You could also allow images as decals, but prevent them from being used in multiplayer, for obvious reasons.

Add a demo derby damage mode
I like the wrecker damage mode, but it is missing out on a lot of its potential. I would love to see a damage mode where there are a few semi-realistic ways to total your car; losing two front wheels or two back wheels, structural integrity being demolished, or having your engine overheat and lock up (e.g. after about 5 minutes of your engine emitting white smoke due to radiator leaking). I also think there could be a mechanic where your engine seizes and has to be restarted, emitting gray smoke in the process. A lot of these ideas come from Demolition Derby & Figure 8 Race, a game from 2001. If you could also tweak the damage model so that front and back ends are more likely to curve up or down like you see in real demo derbies, that would be a bonus.

Engine smoke
In the first game, engine smoke was underwhelming and followed the car rather than trail behind it. I don't know if it's just a problem on my end, but I haven't seen any smoke in Wreckfest 2 when the radiator is leaking. Engine smoke is a great immersion mechanic, so would be amazing if implemented correctly.

And that's it for now
Those are just the first things that come to mind. So in summary, I don't enjoy the arcade feeling of the health bar mechanic, and wished there was some more realism and immersion for people like me that enjoy watching real demo derbies. Also engine smoke.

Thanks for reading!

Righto, as a long time Wreckfest fan, and Australian, I would love to see some Australian tracks featured. Imagine 10 laps of destruction around BATHURST! Or the Adelaide Street Circuit. What about an Australian 'UTE'. Maybe even a track maker or car creation, like Beam.ng and Automation?
Yes! A sleek track editor would be amazing. Something anyone could use. You could make tracks in the last one, but it required a lot of know-how.
Prox chat would be pretty cool! I'd love to hear the local banter during races or when battling over a spot, etc. Obviously having the ability to mute any player would be needed.
Yes great stuff.
I'm all about realism.
Like now and again a damaged engine could emit smoke that fills half the circuit....

Or sometimes you can fined yourself immobilised with a fresh looking car, but your wheel is bent into the arch or your drive shaft snapped from a collision.....

I really hope they focus more on actual Derby and folk racing this time.
Have the crazy stuff if you need to, fun factor, more sales to kids... I get it, but please have an option not to mix into general races, I personally would like only authentic cars in wreckfest 2.
Thanks

There is engine smoke in this game. My buddy had it raging in front of me and it was difficult to drive behind him. IDK what triggered it, but imo it should trigger more often. But once you see it, I feel like you'll appreciate it.

This happens once you damage engine, blow head-gasket and damage pistons.

Bathhurst with Utes would be a blast - too bad my track making skills are non-existent... ;)

No voice chat

No buy

Console wreck fest had voice chat, pc did not.

No sense of community this way. I still to talk to people I met on console, Not a single friendship made on pc the entire community part was just silence and the odd whiner in text chat.

We need that sense of community and social interaction in the multiplayer.

Om the PC side, players use Discord. A lot the popular WF 1 online servers have a discord.

I'm fine with just having text chat on the PC side.

We use Steam Chat - works great for us
