Is the performance for this game good? Haven't bought yet.

Before I buy this I wanna know if this game has good performance especially for laptops, also not sure what game engine its running off. If its on UE5 I'm probably not gonna buy it.

well it doesnt perform better than WF1, I can tell you that. so if you havent upgraded since then I wouldnt bother if I were you

wreckfest 1 ran me well 3 years ago when i had a gtx 1650, ever since i got my 6600 it's been running like trash, so i hope this one's a bit more optimized.

FWIW, on my old-@$$ potato rig (Xeon E5 1660, RX 6600, 16GB), I've been running Medium settings at 1080p, and getting a pretty steady 60fps. Full 24 car grids and lots of onscreen chaos can cause it to dip into the 40s, but overall it's very playable.

For an EA title that's not fully optimized, I'd say that's not bad at all.

I agree that performance is OK. Especially considering the game isn't finished yet.

I was just saying for the OP it's probably not going to run great.

Wreckfest 2 is more demanding i got 80-160 fps on Ultra. In Wreckfest i have 160-200+fps. my specs Ryzen7 5800x, ddr4-3600 and a 7800XT GPU

i think Wreckfest 1 is well optimised and i playd also few years with a 6600 and got above 100fps on 1080p. Which CPU and RAM are you using?

7800X3D / 4080 Super runs the game on 4k Ultra preset (includes FSR Anti-aliasing by default) with 100-140 fps. Seems super smooth on gsync, no stuttering for me.

Out of curiosity, i just tried it on my Steam Deck which has a 4 core/8 thread CPU. Visual glitches aside - I don't know what's causing that but it appears to go over the Deck's memory limit - it's playable if I set everything to low/off and limit the amount of opponents. I tried 24 for a start but that froze up the game. Setting it to 10 opponents made it work.

It's a mess now (because of the visual glitches) but I think it bodes well for future optimisations, for play on Steam Deck and other potato hardware.

Edit: yeah, underneath the minimum requirements on the store page it does say this:

These requirements will be lowered during the early access phase.

Performance is great. Stable framerate with no stuttering at all. 14700K / 4080.

It seems to average ~50fps on mine at lowest possible quality settings at 800p. I've only tried one map though (Scrapyard) and lowering the opponent number really helps. I haven't messed with Proton versions.

Edit: Sandpit is a bit more demanding dropping into the 30s at the corner near the woodland.
