people can listen to whatever they want, no licensing issue
True, but I generally would like it to be native rather than having to think what I want to put on.
I don't really have any specific wishes for the soundtrack outside of maybe a FlatOut 1 and 2 soundtrack DLC for the game. I know that'll probably never happen though since they'd have to relicense all the songs and they would likely view it as not being worth the effort.
Outside of that, while not a soundtrack specific wish but rather a sound design one, i think it would be cool if they implemented the ability for you to hear what others are listening to. The only game i've ever seen this done in was APB Reloaded, and the way it worked was if the person had their radio set to loud enough and you were near their car, you could hear their music, but it would be kind of faint/muffled since it was coming from their car with the windows up. This worked even with audio tracks that weren't in the game, and went off of whatever the person was actually listening to.
I'm not sure of the tech behind it or how it worked but i always thought it was very cool. I'd like to see something similar to that with Wreckfest 2 since many people listen to their own out of game music with Wreckfest 1. Of course, also give us the option to enable or disable it if you decide you don't want to hear other peoples music.
I feel like No Surrender would fit quite well: https://youtu.be/_6ENAumWhMY
This is actually super cool, I didn't know that kind of thing existed. I guess you could call it something of a proximity audio. Besides the subject matter, proximity voice chat would be funny.
Yeah, I think there could just be an option "Disable" as a whole so no one needs to be muted individually. Or as a server setting, too.
