"Owynn"'s dino Observation points - just deco?

When I started playing the demo and finding several of Owynn's dino Observation points (wooden table with notes plus a telescope next to it), I thought to myself: "I hope I can remember where they all are, because surely I will need to find or do something with them all?!"

As it turns out, they did not end up being used for anything. Was there something planned with these locations, but it did not make it into the game? Or did I miss something?

Owynn's dino Observation points are kind of neat, though.

I think that either they will be implemented later, or maybe they might just end up being decor. It would be really cool if we could craft or use them for something else but I don't know if it'll happen. It seems like the dev team is...a little meh right now on making things functional and more on making things look nice.

These are actually Mari's workstations (Owynn isn't too keen on going out in the world himself, which is pretty relatable), but I understand that confusion since it's not been pointed out in-game! For now they just serve as decoration and look out over the lovely dino spawns. I'm not sure if we have plans for future use, but who knows!

Interesting... since Owynn gifts the player a telescope (IIRC)... much like the ones seen on those observation points... and also them being so much more "systematic" in the way this was set up... I actually doubt Mira would ever work in-the-field on one of those.

But it's nifty to learn a bit about such things. In any case the observation points were lovingly crafted.

I always like to think Owynn maybe helped Mari set up the stations, and she probably uses the telescope more than the notebooks, but they're there if she needs them! (We have headcanons too, hehe - I'm a level designer so I'm not too involved in narrative, which means I do sometimes think about these things when creating certain areas!)

Ahh, as a level designer... more than once I was thinking how often I would have used a 3rd bridge in the valley, between the stone bridge in the south and the hanging one in the north... to be able to more quickly cross the river, e.g. from Owynn's house over to the passage to Dapplewood. Just a thought
