Suggestions/ideas
1. a fishing minigame. could make it chibi versions of fish like leedsichthys, dunkleosteos, helicoprion, Could be used as a way to forage carno kibble

2. Enrichment toys, that the dinos can play with and that you can load up with snacks for your dinos

3. More tracking in the journal. noting a character's day off, ACTUALLY ADDING THE DESERT VENDORS TO THE JOURNAL
the ability to track your crops in the journal for more efficient planning. Because sure you can look at crops with the journal, but it doesn't give you a timeline just uses non-descript things

To add more/other things about your suggestion:

1. Sometimes you see splashing in Owynn’s pond, like there WAS supposed to be fishing but it was never implemented, either because they didn’t have time or because it ‘goes against the spirit of the game’.

2. I’m surprised there weren’t toys given what else is available. The only thing that qualifies as a “toy” is the Tenderer items, wouldn’t it be cute to see Lucky and a pack of Gallimimus playing with a ball? T-Rex chewing on a log? Troodons playing with a feather toy? Come on.

As for my extra suggestion:

-Accessories. When the game came out, I was considering buying the game’s trading cards, accidentally clicked on Parkasaurus instead, and it made me realize that Paleo Pines could also have cute dino accessories. I already felt like the Gallimimus’ bridle kinda looked like glasses at a glance, but I would love to put a little top hat on my melanistic Gallimimus. It might be too goofy for this game but even if the selection of items is small and not too ridiculous, it could be cute.

Fishing would be nice, it'd give some explanation for what exactly carno kibble is made from! LOL.

As for toys, best I did was to put a basket of shenanigan festival balls in the den of my two Troodon. :D It'd be nice if the dinos had some reactions to certain props placed in their enclosures.
I'm still hoping there will be something like that as dlc, also some more dinos/maybe access to the swamp?
It would be nice to see Spinosaurus in game although I appreciate it's hard to depict in games right now when it's form changes every few months!
There's also Natovenator, a small aquatic Dromaeosaur (imagine a grebe/raptor hybrid). There are already a few non dinosaurs in the game like Dimetrodon and Postosuchus. Armadillosuchus would be really fun to see in Paleo pines art style, but I get that's a bit obscure I just like the idea of an armadillo crocodile!
While not specifically a swamp dino there are a few dinos I'd just like to see added in general.
Gigantoraptor, a massive oviraptor, so you can ride it.
Iguanadon, doesn't get near as much attention as it used to, but it's a classic, it deserves a spot. Besides, Megalosaurus got a place and it's not even clear if that even EXISTS being a dino based on extremely minimal evidence. Iguanadon was right there besides it pretty much from the day dinosaurs were first discovered and we actually know what it looked like, we have good specimens of them.
Plateosaurus, I can understand that a full size sauropod is probably a bit too big to fit in the game world, but a prosauropod smaller than an allosaurus ought to be manageable and it'd give the group some presence at least.

I gave my trodon (and penmates) the shenanigan balls too. It just feels right.

Would love to have dinosaurs be happy in all biomes they can be found in and not just the one. I was a fossil fighters kid, and dangit t-rex belongs in a desert.

Honestly, i'd be fine with sauropods not being able to be kept on your ranch under the guise of it being simply too difficult to keep them fed, (they are massive bois) but it'd be cool if like once a year they migrate through the valley.

I too put a shenanigan basket in my troodon/microraptor/compy pen lol. Seemed fitting, didn't know what the heck else I was gonna do with it.
