Splitting Stacks

Is there a way to split stacks? Main issue is when I go to put food into a trough I don't want to put all 50 pieces into one trough and then have nothing for another trough.

"ctrl" splits stacks

Hold down ctrl and move the middle mouse button up and down to move items one at a time. You can also hold ctrl and left click the stack to move half the items in the stack.

On controller, hold down RT and move the left stick up and down to move items one at a time. You can also use the up and down arrows instead of the left stick.

I was just wondering this... ctrl doesn't seem to work for me at all.
I'm wondering if there is a controller option for it or not so that I don't have to keep switching control method either...

Edit: Tried lots of ctrl + key combos and just nothing works. I'm getting really sick of over-buying food to be able to split the stacks in the food trough and take some back from there to put the rest in another pen...
There is no controller button combo that seems to work either.

The game doesn't seem to have key-rebinding so some people might be out of luck...

holding left control while left clicking does it in half for me.

Not sure if anyone figured it out, but holding the right trigger & then moving up or down transfers items by one

this helped thank you, be nice there was a key binding list, and i wish this game was more keyboard friendly i have to play with both keyboard and controller :/ my character freaks out when using keyboard why i have to use controller or i be sitting there for a hour trying to get onto the dino....
