Help: Struggling to get a Styracosaurus as a helper

Posting this because I also had this problem in the demo, and if I had it twice, others are surely running into this too. My current understanding with dinosaurs is you make them happy and then wait for them to trust you enough to help you. However, my Styracosaurus (yes, I'm probably spelling that wrong) just isn't becoming my helper, even after a several days in game.
What am I missing?

I have also been having this issue. I have a rare one and I give it pets, play it's song, and give it food everyday but it stays at half happiness and then the next day it is back to base. I've tried giving it every single food item I have but nothing seems to be it's favorite. I've given: bell pepper, carrot, clover, dandelion, tamablume, herb, mushroom, apple, cranberry, pear, strawberry, potato, spring onion, and tomato.

So it's been a struggle for me twice too

What I've payed attention to is:
- Enclosure only houses herbivores
- Enclosure houses 3 dinos including the Styrac
- Enclosure is big enough for all 3 dinos
- Pet Styraco daily
- Feed Styraco a treat (mine likes carrots but I haven't found the favorite food yet but as long as the dino shows a flower effect, they like it)

I didn't know about playing their song so I didn't do that. took me 5 or 6 ingame days to befriend them I think. It was day 12 when they became my helper and I think I got them day 6 or 7

Make sure you check the journal and ensure any of the dino's requests are met. Mine kept asking for penmates until I added two psittacosaurus and then the pen needed to be bigger, so I did that.

Apart from that, every day I fed it its favourite treat (mine likes pears, not sure if they all do), petted it and played its friend song. Also check there is no dino poop in the pen, they like to do it in non-obvious areas. I also upgraded the dreamstone shelter.

The only other thing I did was add a valley biome bush that I received as a quest reward - not sure if this makes a difference.

Even then, it took maybe 5 days (I forget exactly) - they just seem to take a lot longer to befriend.

Make sure u have all correct dino preference, i had this problem with a kentrosaurus, make sure u gift and flute daily, that it has its preferred biome as sleeping spot, and even social requirements are sometimes a must to achieve in order to make it a helper.

It also helps happyness if you let it follow you for a walk to the area it was caught, and if you feed it juicy poppins.

I agree styra's seem to be extremely difficult to find a favorite food for.
