How do I get Juicy Poppin?

You can either give it a carrot and break off the taming and then talk with Mari -> she will tell you Styracorsauri like juicy food (I haven't tried this method personally yet)

Or you give it one of your crunchy poppins which will lead to a failed taming.

After trying one of the methods, go to Pippin, he should have a quest for you now. Talk to him and decline his poppins, he will ask whether something is wrong with them. After telling him you don't want them crunchy he will accept suggestions for juicy poppins.
Give Pippin a carrot (buy it if neccessary) and he will trade it for 3 juicy poppins. You can buy them from him from then on too.

Pippin will have a repeat event all few days after that where you can suggest the other possible flavors and again trade an ingredient for 3 poppins and an addition to the available shop items.

Hi there!

Worstcase11 gave a great explanation! Trying the crunchy poppin first will trigger Pippin to ask you your opinion about the poppin flavors. Once you provide the ingredients needed for the juicy poppins, you'll be able to buy them from them on! Good luck!

The second day after your arrival Lucky finds an old flute in the morning and you can learn to play a few commands on it to communicate with dinos.
After that agami visits to give you a farming tutorial.
Once you finished on your farm and go exploring you will see Owyn and his dino waiting on the path. He will tell you that Mari was looking for you.
Find Mari and you will start the taming tutorial.

1. Play 3 red keys on the flute to catch your chosen dino's attention.
2. Listen to the dino's friendship song and copy it exactly with your flute. Pay attention to the size differences of the tunes.
3. Get the dino's attention-meter into the green area by either feeding it snacks or calming it. make sure you use the correct snack flavor, each species has a preference. If you get into the red areas the dino will fall asleep (then you can check it with the journal) or run away and the taming fails in both cases.
4. If you manage to hit the green, you can try to feed the dino a popping in their favourite flavor. If the dino accepts it, you can pet it and it will follow you home.
Make sure to lure it into an enclosure with the flute (3 yellow keys = follow me, 3 blue keys= this is your new home/stay)
5. To keep the dino happy the enclosure needs a dreamstone of the right size for each dino, a trough with the right food (carnivore or herbivore) enough space (check the journal) and depending on preferences a few other dinos (don't have to be the same species).

I'm having trouble with step number 4.
The Styracosaurus is a glutton!!!! He's already eaten more than a thousand shells worth of Juicy Poppins at 100 shells a pop! He NEVER gives me the option to pet him! He gets the flowery thought bubble over his head but then I am still met with the same old options to either Feed him, Soothe him, or Leave. Or I could try to befriend him AGAIN!!!! Which means that I'd have to stuff another one in his cavernous gut and I'm sick of it. I always keep the needle in green but the tame always fails...
