Starship Troopers: Urban Onslaught DLC Review & Overall Experience

Overall Game Currently

I recommend the game to people who are fans of the franchises. This game so far has its ups and downs like any game and honestly, the devs have done a wonderful job at releasing a well-polished game. The story is engaging, the missions are challenging, and the units are relatively well-balanced. With that being said, this community has been handed the golden keys of being able to create scenarios to bring the fight to the bugs. If you are new to RTS games this game would be a great start but possibly frustrating as its hordes of enemies vs your fixed numbers. If you like a challenge this game is for you. Urban Onslaught Game play Review

The new DLC was a blast. The highlights of the game play are the new units for both the MI and the Bugs. Along with the new map and trying to balance what units you need and for what. I would like to note that these new units and the micro-system of material that was introduced seemed to be lacking as in some missions you would have an abundance of material and in others, it seemed like you were not given enough. However, overall the maps had plenty of locations to pick up material and supply points. Throughout the DLC and other campaigns, I have come across some UI issues with the positioning of the troops and follow through with some commands and obstacle maneuvering, this had been a minor issue throughout the series and the devs have patched most of the issues that were common in the past.

Urban Onslaught Unit Review

Hornets: well balanced but the spawn rate is too fast and could use some adjustments to DPS rates and hit points.

Hornet Tankers: insanely overpowered as it has an insane spawn rate for hornets and even on easy mode hitting it with everything you have is a challenge. When you have to deal with other units pulse what it generates

Ravengers: Nuclear weapons required. These things do it all, rage, have two lives with no time limit, unlike royal guards. Also, they have a ridiculously long range. These units are insanely overpowered and appear a bit too much for the HP stats and DPS that it provides for the bugs.

Busters: Well balanced, it has low HP stats and has a good fire rate but it's difficult to dodge attacks, unlike the plasma grenade bugs.

MI Units: they were all very well balanced and honestly I had no issues with them. The abilities are very good and the mechanical units were a breath of fresh air. My only complaint is with the turret system. They have too short of an attack range and honestly were useless if there were plasma grenade bugs as they would destroy them from long range and it would be impossible to stop them from doing so.

Overall Rating 3.75 out of 5

4 out of 5 on the difficulty as the bugs can overwhelm new and inexperienced RTS players
3 out of 5 on the story as it does not have any other dialogue and is a step-by-step process
3.5 out of 5 on the replay ability as it has achievements for the missions but the style and strategy in which you beat a level generally stays the same. The community does make its own content and with that in mind would bring this score up to a 4 but without it the score would still be a 3.5

Damn might have to take a break from STALKER and L'Elden Rang to play this.

I don't see Challenge scenario like the other DLC , will they come later ? I really want to see tower defense scenario with all these new turrets .

Also for Ravager , i massed MK2 and the new rocket mech to kill it and funny enough , the gas trooper is the real counter to this bug cus somehow Ravager die super fast to chemical , shame that we only get to use chem trooper in the final mission .
