DO YOU GET ME?
It's worth it overall. Co-op would be awesome but I doubt that is planned for this game.
not really, only 30% of RTS gamers even touch multiplayer in other games.
and only 10% of RTS players complete Single player campaign
and your point is? And let me guess, you get your numbers from global Steam achivements where games exists with with no Achivements or achivements that got added with an update later (and single player was finished by players already and the moved on).
Maybe they didn´t finished the game cause it had to much focus on MP and hadn´t a fun campaign (common problem with RTS in the last years C&C4 or DoW3 as example).
But at least all of them tipped their toe in Single player, what is still higher than the people who booted up MP.
Steam Achivements are not a real good source for the player behavior.
I think, that You want to point, that multiplayer is not important for RTS (actually is) and majority of RTS players play singleplayer
I do not know Your source of data, that show 30% of players playing MP (which game BTW?)
Steam Achivements are not perfect, but best what is public, and clearly shows, that many people just own the game, but not playing it in general, neither SP or MP
Here is my sourche of data : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XehNK7UpZsc
He is known for RTS Games in general and shows clearly what the community wants from a RTS game and how disconnected Developers are (a good example is when Blizzard stated they where completly suprised by the success of coop mode when everypody seems to have their eyes on pvp).
And be honest to yourself, how many games do you have in your libary that you buyed but never touched? For Steam it is a non-argmument with two sales in one week is the norm, many people just pick a game off cause there is a high % sale on it.
A Youtuber...
With all respect, it is just his opinion, not a fact.
You would need a real data, which are probably not public
I also know RTS very well.
You can see how the RTS with active MP scene are successful - Age of Empires 2, Starcraft 2, Dawn of War 2, Company of Heroes 2,
Blizzard is a own specific case, extremely successful game company, which hardly failed, I guess, it is not about co-op vs PvP modes, but about "managment", who disconnected with players
Of course, I have, some I bought in discount, some are ready for right time (Desperados 3), anyway I do not blame people foe not playing the games.
If We want to determine statistics, we need to take into consideration, that many people just own the game, so we need to distinguish between "owners" and "active players". That is the point here
Yeah, a youtuber who did a big poll within the community, he has Data. Maybe check before you asume anything.
Until then we are done talking.
