This has been a request for years... please devs, this should not be hard to do... please... LOL it is very annoying
It has around 50 auto-saves if I am not mistaken. There is no way to delete all of them, you need to go one by one, click and confirm...
C:\Users\<your_account>\Documents\My Games\Starship Troopers\Saves
Every directory is a separate save. I usually just delete all or almost all of them.
Just don't delete steam_autocloud.vdf file by accident.
It's way faster than deleting saves one by one in game, especially when you have to confirm it every time.
I'll bump it higher onto the priority list to investigate a way to improve this.
Are you mainly asking because the menu is hard to use, or because of disk space issues?
MH
menu is hard to use - to find some older save between 50 autosaves.
I would suggest to limit austosaves to 5 or 8 for example.
Not only the first one, as pointed out, but why not have a limit as a setting in options menu? Default 50? Fine. But if I want to lower it to 1 or 2? Why not? :)
This could be a bad thing for the devs, because people might do the wrong thing and call it a bug (no pun intended), then devs would chase something that does not really exist. But thanks for explaining, I will do that myself probably.
As other users have stated, do not set a hard limit. Default the saves to 50 as you already have.
Have a setting in the Options menu that defines the autosave amount.
The issue with this might be when changing autosave counts to a lower number:
Overwriting saves when more than the autosave count exists in the folder could be problematic.
IF this might be an issue, you can save the "Last verified saves" into a separate location that can be increased or decreased based on the chosen setting: Only if the autosaves in folder count is greater than the autosave set in the options, it can grab and save the last verifiable saves in order up to the Autosave count set in the options. Of course if it isn't as many autosaved in the folder as the autosave count set in options, then this should be a piece of cake.
Of course I have no idea how you set up your system of Autosaving but that's just my less than a grain of salt answer to a problem that might not even be an issue. Keep doing your best. :)
