Just finished my rebalance mod.
I've been testing the game rigorously and have made this modifcation to help everyone trying the game out. There's a lot of issues in the official release, some bugs too. This makes it a lot more enjoyable, squad sizes have been changed cost has been reduced and some bugs spawn in larger groups while others spawn less (notably scorpions).

As much as I'm looking forward to seeing this, I'm betting it will show the problems with the game having more units. I think they specifically chose the balance they did cause they couldn't increase the unit cap thanks to engine limitations.
I've tried it and didn't see any issues! Just don't disable body despawning otherwise it'll kill it over time.

Since I've beat everything and wanted to test it out myself, I used Cheat Engine to trick the game into thinking I had a ton of supply and war credits, Unity (as this is built on) can handle a ton of units and bugs on screen to my surprise.

Liking it so far, Playing on Brutal as recommended, but to be honest lowering player damage output isn't much of a challenge so to speak. I would have preferred if bug squads were larger the higher the level. Either Way

Do you have persistant corpses tweaked in? As bug corpses are not de-spawning and I'm a tad worried I might hit that limit soon and I'm only on.. mission 3? so far
I don't believe I do, but it might've gotten sent in the file as well. It does get a bit harder as you go on, mission 3's pretty easy and doesn't have that many spawns of bugs. They should be spawning in squads of 20 at the largest.
You can set it back to the default if you navigate to Starship Troopers - Terran Command\Starship Troopers_Data\StreamingAssets\Data and edit variable in notepad then unitsinkspeed and unitsinktime

Yeah seems in your .zip (1st release) that it was bundled in. It's cool but at some point bodies do have to go lol

Yeah, you'll have to manually reset it then. I'm going to push out the update tomorrow.

One thing I have to note, and idk if it's due to me playing on Brutal, but Tankers are really tanky. I suppose I have to combine rocket troopers with tacs for the dmg buff. They feel a little too healthy as rockets do almost nothing to them.

So far in my testing the mod is great, will see what happens on later maps though.
Man, i really really wish snipers would target spitters automatically

(edit) woah, talk about tanky tankers, not even rocket squads can make dents into them.
that needs to be fixed.

(edit 2) yep, 1 tanker is enough to give your entire army trouble, 2 = wipe and failed mission.

(edit 3) apart from that i cant really test anymore, have to wait for you to fix the tankers.
