Scorpions needs an immediate fix
I see there was an update to attempt to fix the balance in the game, but 'Fly or Die' is one of the worst levels in video game history. It feels like no one played through the game on higher difficulties or the normal difficulty.

The spawn rate needs to be lowered to be lowered and/or possibly a cap on the amount that spawn per bug hole. Currently there is no enjoyment when you play against this enemy, it's absolutely punishing. Without a team of rockets, focus fire and fragging (always on cooldown and focusing for stun) wasn't enough to kill 9 before the respawn... I had to drop the difficulty earlier on due to the scorpion problem on a different level.

One enemy should not be this miserable to play against. If there is a focus for balancing, I'd focus on this level and play through the campaign before publishing it. This issue complete cripples an otherwise good campaign experience.

come on, be honest. All the other bug elites are pushovers. scorpion is the only unit that makes you go "oh shi-" and actually start micro-ing to avoid an embarrassing defeat. I know, because that was my case.

But they are not unbeatable. And again, you can just drop overall difficulty making them and everything else way more manageable.

Then accept that fly-or-die is one of the easiest non-tutorial missions in the entire campaign.

This game is entirely about micro-managing your units. Stop A-moving your hyper mobile super flexible troops in a gigantic blob and you can curb-stomp the level with no issues.

I fixed them by changing their weapon to the spitter now they are basically spitter tanks and take like 3x as long to kill off units instead of just one shotting every unit on the map

Fly or Die is ridiculously easy mission, wtf you're going on about?

See, since the wave escalate the second you cap one of the aforementioned point, and you get war support from clearing bug holes, then all you need to do is clear all the bug holes and the plasma, stack on the PA troopers (2 groups of 3-4, 1-2 SAW with rockets for the rest), then cap at the end.

Your PA troopers will easily wipe the floor at anything the bugs throw at you--even the scorpions.

Exact thing I did on Brutal almost did lose the main base but held the air field so long killing another 50 at the base walls was over faster then calling in a tac strike.

For anyone shilling an unbalanced unit, refer to the first comment. I don't have post purchase cope. This unit reminds me of first time attempts at adjusting unit armor/damage/spawn rate on a custom starcraft map. Hopefully they nail it in a future update.

We not shilling , instead of whining we just learn to deal with it , now i see the scorp is mildly annoying at best , most of the time on normal difficulty they instantly die the moment they exit the tunnel .

I have to admit I was disappointed with the 'Fly or Die' mission.

It started off well and felt like a true "special forces" operation with inserting two squads of Powered Suit Troopers to get the initial base of operations up and running.

It devolved from that point though into a brutal war of attrition with the Scorpions as the Powered Suit Troopers struggled to take them down without suffering heavy casualties. This resulted in constantly having to drop-ship reinforcements and what started off as a beautiful operation became downright ugly. Probably one of my least favorite missions overall due to this.
