Why no multiplayer?

Seriously, what genius decided to ignore multiplayer or atleast coop?

I love Starship Troopers but they cant in all seriousness expect people to pay 30€+ for a SP campaign thats gonna be finished after couple hours.

Coop would have fit perfectly imo. Could have been as simple as horde defense.

yeah i think they dropped the ball on this one. It would have been better to have CO OP at a bare minimum.

Yeah, some kind of co-op horde survival dealio would be the ultimate dream for this kind of game (for me, at least).

I made a thread when the game was announced stating that opting out of Multiplayer and/or Coop was a huge mistake and most people jumped down my throat because they just wanted a single-player game. This game is dead-on-arrival without multiplayer, it makes it impossible to recommend to other people and at best it will have minimal replayability and will be forgotten within a month.

It sucks because we're all fans of Starship Troopers and it looks like we'll have to wait yet another bunch of years to get something that we can sink our teeth into.

Well, if it was a multiplayer or co-op only game i would not buy it then!

Sometimes, you just want to have a bit of fun if you only have a short period of time to do so without having to wait for friends or rely on people you don't know(i.e WOT, getting deliberately killed by team mates? because they think its funny to mess up others games)

Multiplayer/Coop would just add years to development time...lets be happy we are getting anything at this point (Maybe)

They already talked about it in the stream several months ago. Bugs only use horde tactics to overwhelm enemies. It would have been no fun. This is basically spiritual successor of Starship Troopers: Terran Command that had no multiplayer either.

In case of ST multiplayer game, something like PlanetSide 2 would have been much better.

There are people who love to use horde, zerg attack just like there are people who love outnumbered "last stand" defenses. Hardly relevant argument for no multiplayer.

If anything, it just adds to the question why there isnt a coop horde defense. Whats more "Starship Troopers" than having even more bugs...?

Honestly, that argument is just a way to justify laziness or hide their inability to make working multiplayer.

Devs said no, live with that and move on.

"Dead on arrival" means nothing in Singleplayer. Game get released, people play it and move on (or replay it for the fun of it, you know like they want to play a game again, or watch a movie again)
Not every little Software needs a MP feature, that pest ruined to much games with ther MP slapped on.

I agree it doesn't need MP or Co-op, but so what we heard so far seems the game won't have much content for RTS or replayability compared to other game of same genre. Just like other major IP games. Starship Troopers - Terran Command might be suffer from licensing agreement to expired which results limited content at launch. The cut of a dynamic campaign has me worry this already happening. Going to wait for reviews or wait for sale for this game

You absolutely need a coop mode or a horde mode, I am a huge fan of Starship trooper, my room is full of goodies and figurines. When I am told that an STR Starship trooper will be released, I expect to have to defend bases and not be able to count the number of bugs that will attack us. What we want is to be a forward base's last hope for survival.

As a lover of starship troopers and a hater of bugs I hope at minimum there is a good challenging campaign. I do think co-op would be sweet during a horde defence but at this point I’m just happy that someone is trying to revamp the starship troopers name. Iv always wanted a game like this and I do sadly think this game will be a let down I still have a shred of hope that it can be a quiet classic that I can play alone. If this fails then I guess I will just have to fall back onto Starcraft arcade games.

If i remember correctly during a stream they said that the maps you fight on would be randomly generated and random enemy types but you have the same objectives either way im getting this game i love me some starship troopers and been waiting for a new games ever since the originals.
