Yep, you're actually right, guess I was wrong, that music was very similar
Duno if some remembers ,or even knew about Starship Troopers (an Fps) ,2005
from Strangelite and Empire interactive, but they used some clips from the first movie ,and it's ...sequel, with a narator speaking over, but you could clearly hear gunfire, shouts and even the original music here and there.
Saddly Poledouris's OST was not used in the actual game during missions, and replaced by a completly original composition with a good inspiration nevertheless. It was not bad at all btw
And of course they used an homemade version of "Klendathu Drop".
Check it out,it's the first track:

My impression of the game overall was that it had the style of the film down. That thus far to my ears includes the music, and I'm a Poledourian adherent for sure.
It's more than essential!!!
When your game is based on a movie (and not the books) why do they work on respecting the visuals, the aesthetics, but not the music? It's just a issue of money, evidently.
But, get for sure that if they don't get the license of the original score, the game will be much much worse, because it is so iconic.
Look at Terminator: Resistance game, i.e. They didn't get the license of the exact original music, but they did get license to score a version/cover of the main theme and the rest of the music was so similar.
If they do get license to re-create Klendathu Drop, it will be more than enough. The rest of the music just need to be "similar" to the original from Poledouris.
I agree
