Skinnies DLC? A plea to go beyond the movie content after the game comes out
Yes I'm that guy but they were in the book sony own rought neck chronicles and you want moral conundrums, well skinnies are the major conundrum they aren't bugs they can be reasoned with but their culture different their relaship with the bugs is complicated and they are not exatly friendly to humans

also, there is mention in the book of more aliens out there so don't let your self be limited by the movies, the miniature game in from 2007 almost realised two new Xeno before the third movie collapse the franchise.

The "Skinnies" are extraterrestrial species with skinny, thin appearance. Originally, the Skinnies are the allies of the Bugs, they later switched side to ally the humans. They are referred to in singular noun form (or things pertaining to them adjectively) as Skinny.

they could be added as allies to one of the factions. and later be independend

The Skinnies do strike me as a prime way to incorporate the moral conflicts (since the Skinnies aren't bosom buddies of the Federation or humanity but are willing/able to negotiate with humanity unlike the Pseudo-Nids). And also a way to diversify gameplay.

Fighting against (or alongside) humanoid enemies like the Skinnies would require a very different set of tactics than fighting the Bugs.

If they use the Skinnies lore from the RPG book then hell yeah! They were really fleshed out well there, more so than in Roughnecks!

just watch there live stream they are using the RPG book but I bet the skinnie will be DLC since they want to focus on the federation and the bugs first.

Oh awesome! The RPG was really what the SST universe needed! More detailed lore and wordbuilding!

I definitely want to see more of the Skinnies! Especially in RTS games where 3 factions is winning formula.
I was actually just thinking about this and I agree it would be nice to actually start including more of the story. XD Plus one question would you prefer Marauders from the FPS game or the Third Movie??? It's just a matter of interest but I would rather have the ones from the game to be honest. ^_^

The problem with the Skinnies is that we know practically nothing about them. We never saw their military. Like any of it. We only saw the "pirate" factions which run around and use stun guns to capture humans for some unknown reason on the periphery of the Federation. They are a very mysterious race at least in the classic RPG that I have. Maybe they have shown more in some other sources but I never heard more than what I said in this post.

They are somewhat prominent in Roughneck Chronicles, where they were originally brainwashed by bug parasites and then switch sides to the humans. Then there is one Skinny who joins the Roughnecks. They seem kind of clumsy and slow in this show, but that's kind of the animation style too.

They have a much bigger role in that ST board game series where they are a third faction. From what I know of it, which is very little, they operate more as elite mercenaries in small squads, sometimes exoskeletons and maybe mechs. They are pretty much raiders.

There was actually this really cool aspect about the Skinnies in the RPG in that the Federation was afraid to chase them too far because they never encountered the Skinny military and were afraid to start a war on another front so they rather decided to just defend/ignore the periphery.

I perfer both the FPS games armor could be seen as the first attepmt of power armor that led to what we get in movie 4 and 5.

Which RPG are you referring to? The one from 2005? Because that one basically had the Roughnecks Skinnies with a few changes and more fleshed out lore.

Yeah, the 2005 one. The book literally says that the Federation has no idea about the technological level of the Skinniest and that the equipment the raiders are using might be the lowest tier. They have also never encountered any lethal weaponry to date, have no idea how powerful their ships are or even what kind of atmosphere they breathe (pages 222 and 223).
