Cross-Platform with Switch

Hi all -

Just got this game to play with my BF and we're not having any luck connecting between my PC and his Switch. Has anyone had any luck with this? We've both tried hosting; when I host and he tries to join on the Switch, he goes into loading purgatory, and when he hosts and I try to join from PC, I just get sent back to the main menu.
