What would you do in Nirmala's Father's Position
Imagine you are a parent that is doing his utmost best to provide for his child, taking on an ungodly amounts of overtime, saving up money to send your child to a decent school that you yourself would never get the chance to go through, in essence sacrificing yourself and your health to provide your child with the potential for a brighter future. This becomes your one true goal and purpose in life, to provide for your family, as the breadwinner and provider for your stay-at-home wife and your progeny that will carry your torch. It is an admirable goal to work towards, aye.

Then, all of your hard efforts, all of the hard work, from your perspective, is foiled and tarnished, your sacrifices seemingly unappreciated, feeling your good will taken for granted.
Your daughter, for whatever reason, locks herself in her room for days and weeks on end, throwing away this wonderful opportunity you've given her... one that you have given everything for...

What would you do in this situation? You are far too busy with work, putting yourself in a position where you have nearly burned yourself out, where your temper is on a very short-fuse, where you feel a sense of bitter resentment towards your own child for failing to meet your own expectations... after all, "expectations are premeditated resentments" after all, but if you had not expected her to make good use of the fruits of your efforts, you wouldn't have went so far to begin with. What would you do?

Note: I do not condone Nirmala's Father's outbursts of anger nor toxicity, this is merely an exercise in critical thinking and... as they say, to "entertain a thought without accepting it."
