Because before were banners with three characters. It`s changes to 2 characters recently.

You could say that, yeah. They increased chances of obtaining a character that has nothing to do with a banner, so there's a higher chance of me getting a dupe old character.

I guess it isn't too bad for newcomers, but for people that have been playing this since the beginning pretty much its awful.

I see. Yeah, it does seem a little more attractive for casual players like me, too. I wish they'd focus on making the upgrading of characters more casual-friendly, though. After I reach level 200 the first or second time, it's tough to go any further as a casual player. The obtaining of new/old characters I don't really care about that much.
