cant download main game files error

after doing the tutorial stage and getting put back into title screen to download the rest of the game (usually around 3gb) is saying i need about 1000mb of storage space. i have more than enough storage space and ive tried things like verifying game files, uninstalling and reinstalling and redownloading the assets in game. this issue only appears on linux. windows and even android works fine.
