Deathground

Deathground

Can't play as a Dinosaur
Just a heads up to the devs, if this is not available at the moment this game is available to the public, it will be a ginormous flop. Progression is completely pointless without a competitive PVP element in these kinds of games.

AI only gets you so far.

I highly doubt the validity of your statement.

Nope. They said they're "open to exploring it in the future" which is the vaguest crap ever.

Tell that to Payday 2.

Did you just try to compare an action focused bank robbing game that's being supported by over 200 developers to a tiny kickstarter project with dinosaurs?

Action shooters are and have been mainstream for ages. Sneaky sneaky + dinosaurs are not.

Not everything needs a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Pvp.

I'm only here because I want an atmospheric survival horror game with dinosaurs, since a Dino Crisis reboot/remake doesn't appear to be on the table at this point in time. TBH I'm not even really interested in a sqaud based multiplayer rendition of that concept, I'd much prefer a narrative driven single player experience complete with interconnected environments and puzzles, in addition to the combat, limited resources, and paced out introduction of weapons/upgrades. That game that I'm envisioning doesn't exist right now (in modern gaming), so this is the best I've got to work with so far. I know the devs are saying that solo play is an option, but I have no misconception that this game is designed around the multiplayer style squad element, even if that's not what I'm looking for. I'm just grateful that this could at least be an option for an atmospheric dinosaur game with an emphasis on survival horror.

True, not all games. But when you have something that's so co-op focused like this with a Humans Vs X genre, it's basically meant for it.

I agree that competitive multiplayer adds more variation and therefore rather keeps players entertained on longterm. Bots will always act the same way, no matter if they spawn randomly every session. So I hope they will find a good way to keep the matchmaking attractive.

On the other side games like Alien Isolation show that multiplayer isn't required at all to keep the player thrilled. Let's see how the game will progress and if the devs will listen to their communities feedback.

As it should be, ♥♥♥♥ asymmetrical PVP, sucks all the horror out of the horror game. Just stick to those unoriginal games if you want that.

I can see quite a few people losing all interest in this once this turns into a forced PvP thing

No? ♥♥♥♥ off.

There's an entire catalog of co-op PvE games that survive to this day, and new entries regularly come out. Even Left 4 Dead, a grandfather of these games, is still regularly played in singleplayer- largely because only sweaty nerds play the PvP mode.

bruh read a little wont you?

“We want to develop Deathground with our community for the long-haul. We want to grow the game over time, adding more features, content and game modes as we go.

These could include:

New types of deadly dinosaurs that push the game's systems into different directions

New player abilities and character classes

New maps and zones

Ranked multiplayer seasons

Different game-modes that move the base survival horror formula off-axis and could include more PvP aspects”

Yeah, youre right, the only way to stand out from the sea of games that are all exactly alike, is to do exactly what everyone else is doing!

No thanks, I would prefer at least a few games to feel different from the same tired PVP shooters were currently drowning in. Hats off to any developers willing to try something new rather than listening to OP lol
