Not good. Basically feels like an asset flip. Music is looped terribly and you can hear the hard cuts where the tracks repeat, extremely low effort. Can be finished in 20 minutes, the hard mode is the exact same thing except you cant take any damage and you can't double jump anymore, otherwise identical.

Even on sale, there's 100+ other platformers you can get at this price point that are significantly more worth your time.

This is a vaguely Mega Man-style platform shooter, with the core design idea being that it takes place all in a single long stage. While this level contains a decent number of different elements and traps it still feels all rather samey. The colors change a bit, but it all looks largely the same, and there's a single music track only, which is fairly catchy but also very short and quickly gets grating. There's a fair number of different enemy robots, but they don't behave all that differently from each other.
It'll all be over in roughly 20 minutes,though there's an unlockable hard mode. This mode simply disables all powerups, and while this does make it more challenging and removes some of the tedium, taking away all the special abilies makes an already simple game even more so. There also is no scoring system of any sort, and I can't see there being a lot of replay value.
The game isn't bad, and if it was free I would say it was worth playing; it's just very brief and limited in what it offers and doesn't really feel worth the asking price even on a sale.

I like this artistic style of this game very much. It reminds me of my childhood. The happy time that I and a group of my little friends gathered around an old desktop computer to play Flash games. I like pixel style games.This game reminds me of Nitrome (a game company that has made 132 Flash games,most of which are pixels). When I first saw this game,I seem to go back to 14 years ago, what unforgettable childhood memories.
However, I have to say that this game does have many shortcomings. Firstly, the game has no guidance, which makes me confused at first. Secondly, the rhythm of the game is too slow, whether it is character movement or level transmission. Thirdly, the operation of the game is a little uncomfortable, just like I can't stop a car or I slip on the road. Moreover, unless I restart the game, when i die once, I lose all my equipment. I can't even double jump. It's hard for me to live to the next archive point. Last but not least, the background music is too noisy, which almost drove me crazy.
I still choose to support u game developers. I also hope you can make some improvements on this game.Wish u do better and better in the future!

The game is short, but it is REALLY GOOD. I super enjoyed romping through this on the deck and if I was the kind of person to speedrun I can see all the places and touches that would make it fun to do so. I feel like the final boss could have been a bit more spectacular (though maybe there's something hidden?), but it's definitely inline with bosses of its ilk (albeit easier). Anyway, it's a fun game and only 4e so go for it imo (if you like megaman style games and don't mind short games).

The game is designed to spend your free time for a couple of evenings. The plot is simple, a game with the passage of one giant level. The style of the game in pixel form, now in retro style, looks funny.

Played for like 40 mins, game is good. Had to eat dinner, so quit to title screen. Next thing you know there is no save option. So whatever the checkpoints I was doing was just for till you are continuing. So its like those old school 8bit platform games.

Game was fun and a bit challenging but loosing the save point of 40 mins just for a stupid reason meh. Do not want this game, this is not the childhood days, my patience is a bit low compared to the 90ts, don't wanna play from the start again.

If the devs add the save game option then do let me know will buy it again.

Look, this game's actually fairly fun and reasonable, but this is one of the few times where "ok but where's the beef?" and it being short is a detriment. I'm old school, I'm used to my games being short... but those older titles were replayable!

This is not a game that's got high replay value and the first run is so easy I beat it deathless. You spend a lot of the game invincible. When a game's this short, maybe a really easy way to maintain invincibility is a bit much?

£3.99 is a bit much for something this short and kinda generic. How short? 22 minutes and finished. Might maybe come back on hard mode but IDK.

I was hoping to at least have the game build on its mechanics a bit more.

When its on sale (and I mean really on sale) its not exactly much of an ask and its like, fine, but again, there is a lot better out there.

This game is a single level with a single boss. The full price is pretty much a scam as you can easily beat this in 20 minutes.

I still give it a thumbs up because some effort was put into it.

Only buy at 90% off if you want your money's worth for a somewhat fun demo of what could've been a nice game.

For 50 cents, yeah It's an alright game. It's very short, you can finish it in less than 30 minutes. Music loops after 15-20 seconds - I'm not sure because I just gave up on trying to figure out why the loop was so bad.

Graphically it's got pixel art, and I always like to see more pixel art. Gameplay wise... It's one level. You run through it collecting coins, killing enemies, and avoiding obstacles until you reach the end boss. Shoot it until it dies, and then it's game over. If you're into speedrunning might be something worth adding into your rotation.

I like the retro style, but One Gun Guy is simply too short: One Level, one Boss would be a more descriptive name. I beat the game twice in about an hour and then gave up on the hard mode (aka baby mode), not because it was too hard (you only have to make it from one checkpoint to the next) but it gets too dull whiteout any upgrades.
I didn't expect much, thinking of it as a quick snack, and I do not feel exactly cheated, but I wouldn't buy again. What disappoints me the most is that the game does not even try to do something differently and carve out its own identity but feels almost like an asset flip. So, if you love the retro style and are after a quick snack, consider it on sale. Otherwise, not worth it. 1.5/5
