New to the game. Does someone have a diagram of the combat mechanics box and where each element comes from. Being new it is confusing to look at.
Do you always know the out come if you have all the numbers? or is their some randomness die roll ascpect?

So I did screen shots of naval tutorial battle, however i cannot post the pic (off all the battle attacks and enemy ship info in one pic). So i have write out the first attack
So first battle ATTACK (sudden attack)
+25 total attack
+12 Stregnth from 400mm
+23 total defense
6 lethal damage and 0 non lethal

So that would be 37 ATTACK and 23 Defense (difference of 12)
Why 6 lethal damage? 12/2 = 6??

I am looking for these types of examples to understand what is happening.

After the first battle the enemy ship took 6 lethal in first round and 5 lethal in second round, no non lethal
However in the info screen of ship TOTAL HP = 44/59 and HULL HP = 22/25
I am not understanding where damage is occurring of 11 LETHAL.
Also why all is lethal and nothing non lethal

The basic formula for calculating damage is: (Total attack - Total defense) * unit's Strength. So, you should not add Attack to Strength. If Attack is equal to Defense you deal on the average 4 damage. If you have more Attack than enemy's Defense - more damage. If less attack - less damage. Then, this damage is multiplied by Unit's Strength (or Gun's Strength in case of ships).
This damage than divided into Lethal and Non-Lethal, usually with 80/20% ratio. Some units like Artillery or Strategic bombers deal 20/80%.
Keep in mind that Ships always receive only Lethal damage, which than distributes into different Ship Parts (Hull, Engine, Gun, etc.). Numbers you see below unit is their current Strength, or in case of Ships - their current Hull Strength.
