You can play multiplayer maps against bots in Practice mode, but the bots are very dumb and I definitely wouldn’t recommend getting Red Orchestra for singleplayer.

It’s an old game, so you don’t need a great Internet connection. I think it was working fine back when I had 128K ADSL. You can try pinging this IP: 70.42.74.69 (the most popular server in the U.S.) If the ping is higher than 190­-200, it’s not worth activating, if it’s lower, it’ll probably work just fine. You might need to download around 100 MB of custom maps and mods when you connect to a server, but if you’re going to get the client from Steam anyway, it shouldn’t be a problem.
