Error on startup -- HELP ME

Whenever i start the game it keeps giving me this error:

OS: Windows NT 6.2 (Build: 9200)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 2493 MHz with 2047MB RAM
Video: No Video

General protection fault!

History: UWindowsViewport::TryRenderDevice <- UWindowsViewport::OpenWindow <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine <- FMallocWindows::Free <- FMallocWindows::Free


Ive searched on far and wide and on this discussion tab and i cannot find a solution with any of them, i tried re-installing the game and darkest hour, i did some editing in whatever file to turning fullscreen off, i found a website on the tripwire interactive forums which led me to Tweakguides.com which redirected me to a site about the owner of tweakguides having Parkinsons and when i tried to find a video about it on google, i kid you not it showed a link to the true tropes fandom wiki about *PARENTAL INCEST* . The game ran fine a few days before... help would be extremely appreciated.

Did you change the part where the default setting is OpenGL? If so, I did the same thing.

I've looked on YouTube and nothing has appeared yet regarding our problems. I'll have another look about. Did you change any settings at all before the problem occured?

Do Ctrl+F and paste in "Error: I have set the rendering device to 'Software' and now my game crashed and every time I try to start it up again it keeps crashing".
