Tainted Grail

Game runs extremely hot
I have a Ryzen 7 3800X, 16 gb of ddr4 RAM and a 3080 graphics card with the latest Nvidia driver. When I run this game my fan kicks into overdrive and the case becomes hot to the touch. I'm not sure what's causing such a glaring performance issue. Anyone else noticing their computer overheating while playing Tainted Grail?

Not overheating, but definitely hot. I'm not sure if it's an optimization issue, but for what the game is rendering it doesn't seem reasonable to me, with similar setup to yours, to be having sub-50 fps in most spots and seeing GPU core temps running around 80 C.

Performance is pretty garbage which is sad since the game is actually really damn fun content wise. It doesn't just run hot, it also freezes when loading a lot of cards on the player turn for a sec or so...

Yeah I'm getting overheating too.Fan is going mad.I have a 2080 and playing 1440p with high settings

Agreed. Performance is pretty poor, especially considering the quality of graphics. It might be worth lowering the resolution or graphics "quality".

I agree. I am playing Control and Horizon on max settings but this is the one that's going to push my setup? Crazy and unacceptable for this type of game.

Happens for me, too. Yeah okay, I'm only running a 1070, but this game shouldn't be as taxing as a big game like Cyberpunk.

RTX2060 Fan goes brr like no other game/ programm i am running! there is definetely room for improvement
im also using a gigabyte 2080 with a case that has damn good airflow.

I had to force lock the FPS to 60 in the nvidia control panel to be able to play in 2k res.

its overheating like a mad man.

In ANY game heat should be directly relative to gpu usage and cooling. So all this 'hot' business is pure bs. If the gpu usage is 100% as it should be with no vsync enabled, high temps mean your cooling is inadequate. Not at all a game issue. Period.

My 1070 gets this hot even with VSync on. Plus, I sometimes get framedrops.
