You should easily be able to copy your save. Just need to find it. Start a new game on steam, quit the game and paste your old savefile into the existing data in C:/users/USERNAME/Appdata/locallow/awakenrealms/tainted grail/STEAMNUMBER/saved/rogue/slot1 … or something along those lines :)
and make sure you start a new savegame on Gamepass, before you overwrite that you newdata with the old one, because the game needs to write a character savegame in a different location
Edit: searched for passive_progress.data, data_bundle.data but only old ones show up.. thinking maybe it's in some protected directory due to how game pass works
I discovered that the hard way with dead cells. I did found the save file folder, but i could not copy, move e delete it. Not even with administrator rights.
There are four files in that directory: "container.213" and three files with cryptic names that are just a string of alphanumeric characters. One is 89KB, the second is 126KB and the third is 417KB. I'm guessing they may be "quick_save.data", "progression.data" and "player_fog.data" that @Thomy013 mentioned above, and could just be copied to the Steam directory and renamed (I verified I can copy them out of that directory just fine). However I don't know which would be which (and this would only work if GP hasn't also encrypted the contents as well as obfuscating the names). The timestamps on the second and third files are the same and the time on the first file is about 15 minutes earlier. All date from the last time I played the game.
Would anyone with access to the Game Pass and Steam versions be able to use this info to see if you can get your GP files working in Steam? I'll gladly pay for the Steam version and move my files over if I know this will work, but I'm hesitant to do it otherwise as I'm a pretty long way into the game now.
Saved/PlayerPrefs.data is human readable so should be easy to figure out, as is Unsynchronized/PlayerPrefs.data. The files under the Backups folder look to be identical to Saved/RogueMode/Slot1/data_bundle.data and passive_progress.data, so you can figure those out based on file size.
