You can move this character with keyboard arrows.
You can attack wtih this character with click, but if your controlled char is a caster, you need to hold down the mouse button until cast.
You can setup AI for all characters on team composition character screen upper right corner, so non controlled chars do what you want, but that is awfully complex, I let all on automacic.
You can pause combat with space, then look around the UI. There is a tank order that can do aggro.
You can also click each character portrait to activate his/her active ability that is set on the team composition character screen.
You can also use WASD to move characters.
When setting up AI there is a very useful function that you can use to automate special skills so that they cast it automatically when they have enough mana (it's at the bottom of the screen).
In battle there is an annoying function that moves your ranged characters back to the right side after each wave, click in Set Endmove section and turn off weapon types if you want to keep your position between waves instead of always starting from right side.
Pressing left Shift fully automates the battle adding the one character you were controlling under AI control too.
