EP-Cut doesn't work on Lost Arts?

Normally Lost Arts use up all of your EP but at least in CS2 you could reduce the amount of EP used with EP-Cut Quarts. For some reason this doesn't seem to work in CS4.
If I check the Arts in the menu, it shows the reduced number (805 EP), but once I am in a fight it still costs 1305 EP to use the Lost Art.

Is this a bug? I don't rememeber the game ever telling me, that I can't use EP-Cut quarts on Lost Arts. This seems really weird to me.

It did in CS 2 and does in Reverie. It should do the same in CS 4.

I don't recall this being an issue when I played.

Also weird that your in-battle screenshot shows that the EP Cut isn't working on ANYTHING, not just the Lost Art.

Example: Aqua Bleed 14 outside battle, 21 in battle.

Try using an Art and see if it uses the full EP or just what it's showcasing it would outside of battle.

Nevermind I figured it out, it was the Pandora Master Quarts, which has the side effect or multiplying the EP use by 1.5 and since a Lost Art can't cost more then your entire EP-bar, it was capped at the maximum.

I feel so stupid right now, but still thank you for trying to help me.

If you are worried there is a master quartz that restores EP according to damage done. Slap that on as a sub or main quartz along with the ep 1.5 and you'll return to full almost every cast, even lost arts. EP cut has always been a little wonky, but the restore with damage is a much better investment if you got it.
