The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV

Question about double and triple advantage.
Whenever I start a battle with double or triple advantage my entire party manages to hit enemies only one time and after that enemies lose break and attack right after losing break. Is this a bug or am I missing something? I don't remember cold steel 3 was like this.

In CS4, enemies recover from Break more quickly. I suppose it's one way to nerf the Break system. What you can do is have people equipped with Impede quartz attack or use Delay crafts to extend the time they are Broken, or have very high Speed.

Also I think they nerfed critical too. I remember you were guaranteed a break if you scored a critical. Right?

No, but it certainly feels like there may have been a bonus or greater bonus to break damage from a crit.

You start getting more "accelerate" effects later as well which moves everyone effected to act immediately. So even 1 character can force the whole party to go in a tiny gap.

No, you might confuse Break with Faint which is very similar indeed but Faint is a status effect that immobilizes enemies and guarantees link attack AND critical hit while break only guarantees link attack (though it's got other perk).

Break basically removes positives buffs, the "enhanced" status on some bosses, and reduces the enemy's defense, allowing you to hit those big numbers. It also makes every hit a critical.

Note that if you followed what the tutorial said, single advantage means you get a speed bonus, double advantage adds the 10 CP bonus, and third advantage is that all enemies start with half their break gauge depleted. =/
