New Game Import System Data
Hi folks,

while starting a new game CS 4 tells me, that system data from CS 1 to 3 can't be found.

I searched the net, this forum and found no solution.

I allready copied the save data from appdata\roaming}falcom to saved games\falcom and even to the ...cheers ... new folder steam\steamapps\common\The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel IV\@\Falcom\ed8_psv4.

I'm used to this folder chaos from trails in the sky, but this seems a little ridiculous.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve the problem?

Thanks

When you say saved games\falcom, I just wanted to check that the games were in the subfolders under that - ed8, ed8_2, and ed8_psv3 . Mine were in those folders and the game found all three automatically.

Yes, i copied the complete ed8 folders to all locations I know. I even started CS 3 and created a new save game to be sure where the save game files are located.

Most funny part was, that I found them under appdata\roaming\falcom instead of the usually stated \saved games\falcom\... folder.

New Problem but perhaps the same cause. I can't create any new save game in CS 4.

I allready tried
- exceptions from anti ransomeware
- Start as Admin (result: no controller only mouse and keyboard)
- checked integrity of game files
- run with/without Beta 1.02 + 1.10
- deleted empty ed8_psv3 folder
- unchecket write protection in folder properties
- createt ed8_psv3 folder under saved games and ...roaming...

>> Edit 2
I just uninstalled and reinstalled CS4... no change. Can't load previous CS save games, cant save CS 4 progress and changes in settings like bgm volume work only while the game is active. Closing the game and starting anew the settings are back to default.

Hi Qtrix,
with another user we could pin down our problem. We both had moved the windows libraries from c:\.... to another drive.

Windows "lost" the registry entries, CS4 ran in little circles and couldn't find the "my games" folder. Having no failsafe like the older CS games it could not create any game save files.

Just check the following diskussion. Perhaps your problems could be solved the same way.
