At the moment I'm at the start of Act 2 and didn't beat that cryptid yet.Can I ever go back to defeat it after Act 1?

Yes you can but what level are you on curently with youre party

Around 85-86 excluding Rean who is 91.I play on normal and is it my first playthrough

Just be warn that's on level 100 cryptid and my advice try level youre party over 90 level so you have chance beacuse based on my experience with cold steel 4 cryptids not giving any exp just sacred arts and sepiths but no exp at all so my second advice try almost matching the cryptids level beacuse they strong but if you figure out battle patterns you can beat them but not right know when I've played cold steel 4 am leveled up my party close enough to beat the cryptids but you can beat them all Cryptids even when you progressed even further in to the story

I took it out at level 84-85 on Hard before the end of Act 1 on my first playthrough. Protection against Arts is important, and Freeze and Vanish are two status effects to be wary of. It might take a couple of attempts, and might require some changes to equipment or orbments, but it should be very doable from that current level.

Every CS4 optional boss can be revisited at the appropriate level. Don't worry too much about missing out, but bagging them early is a bonus.
