U-Mats are always a pain to get

Lets make the player spend 1500+ U-Mats to get a decent amount of everything. This will take many hours to get. I wish you can just buy them

it can be done in less than an hour if you know what you're doing. prolly the most painless grind in an JRPG yet.

and 1500+ is absolutely overkill lol

Is it? I already spent easily 1200 U- Mats and I'm only on Act 2-1b ( I think)

I can't even imagine what you need all those u-mat for and if it's even got any point when simple lone blade+domination or nightgleam+hades quartz on one, two at most, characters can easily wipe out everything in the game.

Well at first I was using U-Mats for accessories and those aren't cheap.... The Later I found out you can just buy them all.... So that was a waste there. I can't even get a Hades or a domination quartz yet. I just started getting quartz that cost 36 U-mats to make Plus the U-mats need to make the one required to make the 36 one would be like 44 spent U-Mats to make it.

Meh, I enjoy the grind. I got enough U-mats to equip everyone (and I mean everyone) with their own quartz loadouts, so I never need to worry about Team dungeons. So everyone gets Nohval gems, physical attackers get Carnelia and Mars, casters get Argem, Diabolos, Deus, and their choice of Bells and ultimate art quartz, evaders get Esmelas, Breakers get Rakan, debuffers get the ultimate status effect quartz possible, and any leftover slots get filled up with Gyres, Goldias, Sevenfolds, Lost Arts and Skandas.

The general process of CE searching is quite easy. Type in Umats, search, use a umat, search(for reduced value), gain a umat, search(for increased value), and cheat engine is down to like 3 choices. If you pick wrong, close everything and try again.

CS4 has a cap of 999 umats. That should be more than enough to stay ahead of the curve.

As I said before, I have found the value for them on the 2byte address value but when changing the value of it it doesn't stick

Sometimes search narrows in on the wrong thing. Also memory addresses like to bounce around.

Try crafting a few items to narrow the search. Then go to the menu and discard a umat to lock in on the target. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes of fiddling.

There are also 4 and 8 byte address that corresponds an item value as i recal.
But if you have difficulties with using CE why not just download a CE table for CS4 from
fearlessrevolution? Just google for "trails of cold steel 4 cheat engine", the very first link its just what you need. There are tons of stuff in it including inventory editor as well as infinite items.
