Is there a book series?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there a book or series of books based on the stories told in these games? Cold Steel, Trails in the Sky, etc. Love the games and want more!

Not a series. but there are stories and audio dramas that are based on the games and occasionally referenced. Most don't get translated though.

Like in Cold Steel 2, they occasionally reference a previous class trip to Ymir. That was an Audio Drama. It was released by xseed as a transcript

Not really, no.

There is however the Ring of Judgement manga that sort of bridges the gap between Trails in the Sky 3rd and Zero no Kiseki and tells of Estelle and Joshua's first trip to the empire and when they meet Toval.

It's not a bad read if you are really into the lore of the franchise because the games never really tell the story.

There was a manga focusing loosely on CS1's events. Don't know if it ever touches CS2 but I've seen a few panels here and there.

Speaking of that, can someone remind me when or where the events about Kai and Tillia take place? I don't remember those kids from Alster at all, either as Estelle & Joshua, or during the Civil War. =/

Yes, read the light novel 英雄伝説 零の軌跡 四つの運命 if you know japanese, you can buy it in Amazon.jp. I highly recommend reading it before or after beating Zero. The novel takes place before the events of Zero and explains in more detail the backstory of the main characters that was never explained in the games until they would finally become members of the SSS, like how Ellie and Mariabell first met when they were little and became friends.
