Just fight all monsters as you come across them. The only time I felt a need to grind monsters for a while (on normal) was during Act 1, part 3, because there are a lot of 'accessories that are part of a set of 4 which can be traded in for a better item' in that area.
Use Kaleido MQ on everyone during easier sections once you get it. Also Emblem as main MQ on someone who's good at breaking opponents.
Also, don't bother to update weapons and armor for characters you don't intend to use anytime soon. Focus on 5 or 6 characters with a good spread of talents (Heavy Hitter, Evasion Tank, Breaker, Blaster Caster, Support Caster and/or S-Crafter) who are geared up. You can pretty much ignore everyone else until the mandatory crew restrictions of certain sections force you to use them.
Regardless, partway through act 2 or so you'll be swimming in Mira unless you waste it on buying expensive consumables or something like that.
Kaleido works like this:
- Each proc gives 10% of all non-0 drops, rounded down, to a minimum of 1 sepith.
- sepith turns stack with kaleido.
- Procs are determined by the battle animation. Each skill is unique with its own number of procs. For example Machias' S craft hits over 20 times, and is one of the best money makers.
- Skipping doesn't seem to always give the correct procs. Use turbo mode for best results.
- Septium Vein boosts every proc by +1 sepith. Rashkan Gem should be +2 and should stack(untested)
Enemies tend to have much higher septium drops in CS4, making it easy to hit the +999 cap. Procs will fail when everything is capped.
