Very interesting, I liked everything, i played around 50 Min, and reached 1 of 3 endings.
Very unsettling atmosphere throughout.
If you are a horror fan, you should get this. Worth it.

Suite 776 is an investigative horror about repetition and obsession. This is a Pavlovian exercise in paranormal horror where you try and document the existence of a geometrically impossible apartment without getting killed by the ghost of a dead architect. Instead of a dog getting food every time the bell rings, you get closer to document the existence of Suite 776 every time you ring the apartment bell. Every time you ring that bell, new paranormal activity changes something in the apartment. Through this repetition, Suite 776 summons an eerie atmosphere, a well-written short story, and manages to incorporate tasteful jumpscares.

You become afraid of turning every corner because you do not know what horrors lie beyond. A seemingly innocuous occurrence, like a door slowly opening, stops being explained by a sudden breeze and becomes a signal of the afterlife interacting with the living world. In Suite 776, you have two tasks: to prove that Suite 776 exists, and to document the paranormal activity surrounding the apparent suicide of Mary. Mary is the infamous architect behind the impossible Suite 776 – an apartment in the 12th floor that has a window view of the ground floor, an apartment that has doors which lead to different rooms during different times.

Suite 776 reads like a short paranormal horror story. It’s a linear story. Mary was an incredibly talented architect that slowly spiraled into an unstable psychological state. Her turmoil came from her inability to take criticism. It became so bad, she bought multiple mannequins so that she could project her anger onto them for reminding her of her failures. She became so obsessed with pride and her anger consumed her so that she committed suicide. These mannequins in turn, at later points of the game, serve as creepy apparitions as they populate the apartment out of nowhere. The gameplay is mainly comprised of walking, puzzle-solving, item collection, and note-reading. The game also does not feature save points, despite not being permadeath, and is supposed to be completed roughly under an hour.

Very fun game. I've gotten all endings. I saw the very start of Markiplier's video, and that was enough to pause the video to buy and play it myself. I've got a total of just over 3 hours of playtime (as of writing), but I'm sure I'm going back to get the last achievement (2 mins) and to find that darned easter egg. Short game, but that's no surprise. It's upfront about the estimated playtime for a single session (~50 mins), and I have no complaints.

This is a scary game. There's no two ways about it.

It's such a simple idea and design and it's executed really well. The idea is that you're in a very small apartment that seems to be a different size when you walk into it than when you're outside of it. Oh right, and there's a bell. A bell that you absolutely, definitely do not want to press. In fact, the game is centered entirely around this damn bell. Let me tell you: Nothing good happens when you press the bell. Nothing.

Like Inside Depth 6, there are a few endings that you can get based on what you choose to do or how thoroughly you choose to explore and complete the game. One of your endings you can get in under 2 minutes or so, and my full playthrough of it collecting everything to 100% took me about 70 minutes. It's really up to you how quickly you progress through the game. You can't save, either. You have to do the game in one shot.

Jump scares are present in the game but not overused. They are made to just get you when your guard is down. Many moments in the game it seems as if you are going to be jumpscared for SURE and then suddenly nothing happens for a long time. Then when you think that everything is fine and you are safe BAM jumpscare. This game has a few particularly nasty jumpscares, too. One that I absolutely did not see coming and I almost pooped myself.

The real gem in this game is the tension. It manages to create a great deal of tension and fear through little more than a bell and a hallway. You are going to think that it's not that scary, but when you hop into the game and see that bell and the music cuts we will see how you do!

It's short, sweet and well done. The story is a little sketchy but that's okay. I can look past a bit of a confusing story for a great game with incredible atmosphere and tension.

Don't press the bell. That's my suggestion.

Suite 776 is a pretty spooky adventure for anyone daring to give it a try. There is really no other way for me to describe that. Not that there’s gotta be another way. Sometimes simplicity is the best solution for many questions that developers ask themselves when creating new products. To be perfectly honest, I feel like Stanislaw Truchowski, the creator of that title, drew experience from his first two horror creations. The first one being Minds Eyes, which wasn’t exactly the greatest of scary games in the first place, since for the most part the players were just bored, waiting for a jumpscare and not progressing much in the title. The second one being A Girls Fabric Face - a clear improvement in his craft, where the players were locked in a haunted house with the sole premise of capturing paranormal activities on tape of a camera with a habit of quickly draining all the battery life.
For someone like me, who purchased Suite 776, a third horror title by this indie developer, it is a great pleasure that however Stanislaw Truchowski wrapped his mind around those experiences, it gave birth to something really scary. He created a game focused solely on keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole duration of this trip.

And here we are, in a creepy house created by a once famous architect Marcy, trying to solve the mystery of her death, inside of her greatest creation - Suite 776.


But what really is this Suite 776? To put it simply, an apartment which doesn’t make sense at first and makes even less the longer you stay around to experience it. Impossible architecture that the game even highlights a couple of times, stating that a building like this has no right of existence. For you as the player, it means a number of corridors and rooms that theoretically are always the same but in practice change ever so slightly with each ringing of the bell.
Setting inspired heavily by P.T. - a horror game forever doomed to be just a teaser to what could have been an amazing and truly horrifying Silent Hill predecessor. As for someone who has completed P.T. it felt all too familiar. Same room, different story. Even the corridor setup looked almost exactly the same as in the aforementioned title.
This however, is not a flaw. I can without thinking twice say that Suite 776 took what was the best. Good visuals, good audio and simple yet effective setting.

The game itself looks stunning at first as for an indie title. I wouldn’t exactly call it that way anymore after playing it to the very end, as some parts of the game are admittedly visually lacking. Slight overlooks are visible in the second half of the title. The further you progress the more visual bugs you are bound to experience. That being said, I still think that Suite 776 looks gorgeous. Sure, some details are not polished but it doesn’t take away from the bigger picture. Slightly dimmed lighting, barely visible green UV light and high detail texture of the walls surrounding you, add to the effect of being stuck in something that could once be called a cozy home.
The sounds seem very natural. Unnerving music playing at times just to remind you, that you’re in for a wild ride and occasional louder encounters causing your heartbeat to raise in an instant are fitted perfectly into the game world. With the exception of one particular loud fly probably stuck somewhere in a wall for a very short moment, nothing seems out of place.


But how does this play out? For someone like me, it was very fun. The game isn’t one of the longest and does inform you that it is intended to be completed in a single sitting. This title can be completed in around 45 minutes. The story told in this almost an hour trip isn’t exactly the deepest or most interesting. No, far from that. I was actually left scratching my head later the night I completed the game for the first time. As much as I was surprised that it was actually “started and finished” in less than an hour, I was given more questions than answers. All the answers that were provided were rather… meh? Underwhelming is the best word. The game does feature multiple endings which… makes sense as there’s one bad ending, one good ending and one very special ending that not everyone gets to see but on the other hand, none of them is truly satisfying.
This is where the gameplay comes in to support the story. Throughout the whole time you spend in the Suite 776, there’s maybe one or two moments of the downtime. That might be just me being a scaredy cat; but I feel like the game has done its job as a horror. During the whole duration of my adventure I was jumpy just because of the setting of this title alone. Each subsequent ringing of the bell felt like a torture. But in a good way. I knew damn well that by progressing further and filling the air with lengthy metallic sound of a little hotel bell, I was just a perfect target for an attack of spooky sorts. And I enjoyed it!
I can happily say that the game delivers on most its promises. There is horror, there is suspense, there is mystery. The tempo at which those are dropped on the player’s head is also very correct. Puzzles are simple yet require a moment of clear thinking, which under pressure is not exactly the easiest thing to do. The only aspect I could really bash Suite 776 for is the story itself which just seems to be missing something, leaving you with that weird feeling of disappointment.

However, too harsh of a criticism would not be really too fair on my side. It is extremely difficult to create a horror with a deep convincing story. Especially when it is supposed to be completed in less than an hour. This is also not something I was looking for when I was buying this game. When purchasing Suite 776 I was looking for a cheap scare and nothing else. With that premise in mind I can honestly say that for its low price, this product is not just good, it is literally worth every cent.
If you’re looking for something that could take you for a longer ride down the spooky aisle, this game should not be your primary target.

To sum it up - Suite 776 was way above my expectations that I had before buying this game, yet it is worth mentioning that I actually didn’t have any. Since the game does not even cost a dollar/euro, I can only recommend it, as it gives way more than it is worth in the Steam Store.

Suite 776 is indie developer Stanislaw Truchowski's fourth release to date. Most of their previous work has been well received, which is impressive given that the titles all stick to a very low budget, and are sometimes even released as free to play. This time the story puts us in the perspective of an investigator who has ventured to an apartment building to review the suicide of an established architect named Marcy. Not much more can be said about the plot without giving away key points and unexpected twists, but suffice it to say that not everything is what it seems.

This experience is yet another Silent Hills PT clone, but despite all of its shameless worship, it still brings with it elements that make it unique. Yes, you're going to spend a lot of your time wandering changing hallways and looking for progression triggers, but you're going to be extremely on edge the entire time that you're doing it. As you plod around apartment 776, you never know what corner Marcy might be hiding around or when your next encounter with her might be. Though she's harmless, she strikes completely out of the blue and manages to be terrifying each time. This is helped, of course, by the droning ambience in the background and well-placed sound effects that'll make you question whether you're truly alone or not.

As there is no save feature, you're going to need at least about an hour set aside to play Suite 776 in one go, but that's really not too much to ask. It's a short and very enjoyable experience, but there is also a lot of replay value given the multiple endings and even an easter egg that takes quite a bit of work to achieve. The true ending also takes a fair amount of effort, but it's the one that thoroughly fleshes out the humble ghost story encased in this release. If you don't get it your first time around, it's well worth spending the time on an additional playthrough to get it. I think it's time to commend Stanislaw Truchowski on his most ambitious project yet, and congratulate him on reaching his goals of creating a genuinely frightening horror game.

Advantages:
1. It's super scary! The build up is amazing and little spooks here and there are unexpected and really powerful!
2. The puzzles are very interesting and entertaining! I think it's really cool that the game has 2 endings and the player should a bit to get the other ending. I think it's pretty cool! The puzzles are not too complicated as well.
3. The story is really cool. There's much more to the story than I originally expected and I'm so glad that I played the game, honestly.

Disadvantages:
1. There is an easter egg that's too hard to get (lots of guessing) and very disappointing afterwards. If you want to see it - don't even bother trying to find it, just watch a vid on YT.
2. After you'll understand that there's no actual danger to Marcy, the experience become much less thrilling which is sad. But the spooks will still get you :3 I just wish there were a bit more to Marcy and there would be some chase scenes or smth like that.
3. The photo mechanic is a bit weird. You can get a lot of photots from 1 sighting and until you understand that, it's very hard to progress and get the other ending. Still, it's not a biggy as I think the trial and error method solves the issue very fast.

Overall:
This is a great horror experience that takes about an hour to beat! I rate it 8.23 ring bells / 10. Thank you for reading this review)

This very short game is made by a single man apparently. Stanislaw Truchowski did a very good job with this short little project. It is to be expected that it look and play like a short budget game, because it is. And for the price of 2$ it is worth it. I had fun doing the 3 ending, and on the first playthrough had a 2 3 jump and spooky moments. It isn't kidding when it says it is a 50 minute games but it's ok, it's enough for what it is. Played it 2.4 hours to do all that has to be done and i will never play it again. Satisfied customer.
