The Perfect Tower II

regarding module drop rates
so I finally got some exotic gems, and the second upgrade I got was the treasure map thing that lets me see the module drop rates (first was the mine has a chance to drop exotic gems, so I can get more of course...). so that kinda got me wondering, is that rolled once when the run ends, be it death or go to town, or is it every x waves, every time you kill a boss mob, every wave? how often does it actually roll to see if I get a module?
also, some are DRASTICALLY rarer than the rest, often being 1/10th or less the average drop rate of other abilities on said map, I'm assuming those are the "really good abilities" compared to the more standard element damage/resist ones? so basically, I'm asking are they ones worth grinding for early game or should I wait till I'm running a few tens of thousands of waves on hard mode to bother? currently am working towards military t4, at about halfway on the maxed modules and FINALLY got some t3 blue makers in the factory, so will prob get there soon...

Roll is made on exit (either all waves done or retreating).

Last wave reached is one of the parameters that define the drop chance.

Those modules that have low drop rate are more rare obviously but not necessary better, maybe you won't even use them depending on your build.

It is better to automate running the dungeon (there is an option to autorestart in settings) and do many short runs instead of one 1000+ waves because chance increases less efficiently the higher your wave is. You can see the formula for drop chance somewhere on wiki if you are interested in math. Having some speed boosts really helps to get those modules faster even if you end up losing at lower wave.

ok, roll on exit was my main question, and if you are saying rarer isn't always better, I'll just leave it for later, I have been leaving my pc to grind waves while I'm at work, but I was doing endless for the better town resource returns, guess I'll switch to short loops for now just in case I get lucky, and I guess I didn't really make it clear, but since I saw difficulty also scales drop chance, I figured "short" runs to 100000k or even 1M+ on hard or insane mode when I'm much later on would clean up the drops pretty quick, if they aren't anything really helpful now

Yeah, forgot to mention that short runs on the highest difficulty that you can manage. Even if it is just wave 20 that you can reach. Difficulty modifier is more important than wave reached. For example, if you can reach wave 20 on Insane this will be the same as wave 400 on Easy. It's also faster to fail on early wave on harder difficulty than wait through 100+ wave on easy one.

Here is the link to wiki with explanation of drop chance.

100000k is 100M actually. I think you meant 100k. But reaching 100k waves increases your chance just 2.5x compared to wave 100 and takes a lot more time so isn't really worth it. As I said, many short runs on the highest difficulty is better than longer runs.

Around M7 you will have Software that makes VERY quick very high runs possible using auto-reset. To the extent that you can unlock everything out of the zones in minutes. Of course, you need a broad selection of modules to get there!

There is an easter egg that can help you unlock them a bit faster, though I did not find it myself, and even then had already gotten all my modules. Try clicking the signpost on the mountaintop. It may take a few tries before you see a "splash". Then check the museum.

yes, there seems to be a clickable object on most maps that gives you an artifact, like the skeleton on desert or the vine on jungle.
