I haven't completed the DLC yet but I have gotten past that first abyssal tyrant and when I fought it most of my team was lvl 80-83 except for my omnisun which was lvl 94 and it scales to your highest lvl and I also beat it first try but then again I also found out that you can pretty much negate the 2 turn cooldown of the move Renovate (fully heals you but you have to meditate for 2 turns) and if you use a healing item (I used ethers to regain stamina and it completely removes the 2 turn meditation so you can get a full heal and regain stamina for pretty much free and then I continued to hit it with the Psy Ray until it died. At the time all my nexomons core where the same (and have been since about mid-way through the main story of just experience lvl 3, stamina lvl 3, vitality lvl 3, and synergy (exp share) lvl 3
M,y team consisted of omnisun, protovados (now vados), and the rock, grass, water, and fire starters (started with grass found out it was relatively easy to get them all so I've been rocking a whole starter team the entire game) the rock starter is still the best starter since its tank and hits hard even when it's just neutral and I have since swapped the water and fire starters for the greater drake counterpart simply because they were the weakest of the remaining (water bird being disappointing with it's low damage and defense and since I primarily just use the highest damage move regardless of speed it usually went last anyway)
I almost forgot to agree with the fact that the wild encounters are kinda dumb (I think it would have been better if they did scale but got hard capped at 75-80 instead of 96-99)
Edit: Got a bit further and if you get past the first and second titans (second is a grass deer that's out to the west that you have the 2 psychics "join" you for) after that you go to the rock that needed miners and you fight the muscular dude and he has 5 nexomons equal to your highest lvl and I just recently maxed out my omnisun and vados to 99 but got bored of training the rest and decided to progress more and ran into that so this is just a warning
Ultra potions aren't good enough. You can only buy max potions from the witch camp west of the immortal citadel.
It is challenging but I am not finding it too difficult. Iam playing on story and have a team of greater drakes and tyrants all lvl 99 not that lvl matters since it scales. The bosses do have a lot of health. I just use the skills that have 150 power and I find I generally just need to use a few max potions and max elixirs when I get down to red health and when both stamina and health is low use a max elixir. Once you find Bonnie you can make max cores which are better than the lvl 3 cores. I have 2 max def cores, 1 max attk core and 1 max immunity core on each nexomon.
I've managed to get up to the labyrinth, totally confusing so just watched a you tube video so I could find Kroma. I have killed all the abyssals and have to next find the final boss. I have not died yet.
My teams consists of Vados, Boscage, Eurus, Glamond, Volta and Dracon.
