How to enjoy the abyssal dlc? (am i missing something?)
It feels like just pain to me. Enemies have ridiculously high stat. I can beat them but healing afterward is pain. No healing crystal met yet in the new area. Walking back for healing is far away. If I use items, doesnt seem gonna be sustainable, might run out of money sometime.

Am I missing something required to enjoy this new dlc? Or it is just about enduring a bunch of unfun stuff as an ultimate challenge?

There aren't any healing crystals. There are two camps for healing.

I breezed through most of the game using XP cores, rarely switching off of them. I came into this area with a team all 96-99 (this makes all enemies spawn at 96). I had to start using stat boosting cores. After doing so, it became very easy. You will find a handful of Max cores, but equipping mostly 3s is sufficient.

I would recommend using the repel spray whenever you're headed over to an Abyssal. As every Nexomon in the area is "Ultra Rare" it means they are all equally common and very easy to encounter. There is also the Luring mechanic, but it's not really even necessary.

There will be a few fights that you need to use items, but I imagine you can spend 10k or less on healing in the area. I never needed to do it, but I'd assume if you use the portable storage, you should be able to swap out to full healed back ups as needed, rather than trying to heal your full party with items as you travel.

i had my team above 80 when i got into the DLC, took me about 10 hours to get through - would suggest using the ultimate class nexomon for it and nexomon that can recover their own health, otherwise stock up on healing and stamina stuff along with revives and grind a load of money before hand - maybe try for the beat every tamer achievements to make the grinding useful

Outside of a handful of trainer fights and legendaries (which are meant to be hard, they're bosses after all), all the combat encounters can be fled from or skipped, even in caves with the spray.

Maybe you're using low rarity nexomons, which tend to be quite terrible in stats, it seems the game assumes you're in post game and have a team with 6 mega rares or above.
Maybe you didn't spend enough time making tier three cores to boost your stats.

Both can be fixed in the new area : the new wild encounters are pretty good to farm XP so you can level up a better team, and there are obscenely good shard farming areas, plus you can spend those shards on the new tier of cores.

By the time I got to the new area after finishing everything else first, I was already at the level cap, so outside of catching the 'new' mons (and then running back to heal after a couple gos, or before fighitng a boss) I just ran from every encounter, because with no need for exp, fighting was pointless. And despite the fact that the random encounters were obscenely difficult for a random encounter, the tyrant and tamer fights were obscenely intense, and I loved every minute of it. Especially fighting Ulzar and Ziegler/the Wardens literally had me sweating, but in a good away. Though to be fair, I think its also because like, at this point having beaten the game, you probably have enough money to by a quasi-infinite about of potions, so as long you USE them, you really should be fine. I think that's where the difficulty really comes into play, is that mind set of "Hey, you know all those potions and ethers you've never used because you thought you might need them later? Well, it's later, time to use them"
